(Y/n) pressed herself tighter against the railing, the cold metal biting into her back. Her palms were slick with sweat, her breathing shallow. Just behind her was an unforgiving drop to the first floor below. One wrong move, and she'd fall, or worse, be thrown.

In front of her, the friends squared off, and the tension in the hallway grew suffocating. Souta and Riku locked eyes, both standing at their full height. Souta, with his taller, broader frame, loomed over Riku like a looming storm cloud. But what unnerved (Y/n) the most was that Riku didn't back down.

The smaller boy met Souta's glare with a fierce scowl, his jaw clenched tight. Every muscle in his wiry frame was coiled like a spring, ready to explode.

(Y/n) frantically tried to intervene, desperate to stop whatever was about to happen. "Souta- please," she begged, her voice cracking. "We can tell the others! We can give Reina justice-" She sucked in a sharp breath. "Riku can go to jail, and this can all be over!"

Souta's shoulders rolled, rising and falling as if he was trying to shake off invisible chains. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, Riku's voice cut through the tense air like a razor.

"She has her memories back."

The words were sharp and deliberate, sending a chill down (Y/n)'s spine.

Souta paused for a moment, but quickly recovered, shaking off the comment. Then, without a word, he began striding toward Riku, each step purposeful, heavy with unspoken anger.

"No," (Y/n) whispered under her breath.

But Riku didn't move. He didn't flinch. He stood his ground, as if daring Souta to come closer. His brown eyes burned with something wild, an emotion that blurred the lines between defiance and madness.

Souta lunged first. There was no hesitation, no warning, just pure fury driving his fist straight into Riku's jaw with a sickening crack. The force sent Riku staggering backward, but he caught himself, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, blood smeared across his pale skin. And he smiled.

"You always wanted an excuse, huh?" Riku rasped, his voice low, taunting. Before Souta could react, Riku drove his fist into his ribs, hard and fast. Souta grunted, doubling over slightly, but Riku didn't stop. He twisted and sent a brutal knee into Souta's stomach, forcing the air from his lungs.

Souta gasped, stumbling back a step. But just as Riku went to follow up, Souta surged forward with a snarl, slamming Riku against the wall. The impact echoed down the hallway like a gunshot.

(Y/n) flinched as the wall cracked from the force.

"You've lost your mind!" Souta growled, grabbing Riku by the collar and slamming his head back into the plaster. Once. Twice. The dull, meaty thuds sent shivers down (Y/n)'s spine.

But Riku didn't cry out. Instead, he grinned wide and wild. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he sneered, "I always knew you were weak."

Souta's eyes darkened with rage, and before (Y/n) could scream a warning, Riku twisted his body, breaking free from Souta's grip. In a blur of movement, Riku dropped to the ground and swung his leg out, sweeping Souta's legs out from under him.

Souta hit the floor with a heavy thud.

Riku pounced like a predator, straddling his chest. His hands shot to Souta's throat, squeezing hard. Souta gagged, thrashing beneath him, but Riku's grip only tightened. His eyes were feral, crazed.

(Y/n) couldn't just watch. She rushed forward, trying to pull Riku off, but he swung his arm back without looking, his elbow catching her square in the ribs.
