A sharp, searing pain jolted through (Y/n)'s leg as her ankle twisted awkwardly beneath her. With a sharp hiss, she crouched down, instinctively clutching the injured joint as waves of pain throbbed up her leg. The ground beneath her was littered with shards of broken glass from the shattered window above, and though she could feel the sharp sting of some embedding into her bare feet, the adrenaline surging through her veins muted most of the discomfort.

Her breath came out shaky, the cool night air burning her throat. She glanced over her shoulder and locked eyes with Souta, who leaned out of the broken window with a frantic expression. His wide violet eyes scanned her from head to toe, taking in her trembling form. For a split second, panic and dread twisted his features. But when he saw she was still on her feet, alive and mostly unharmed, his face softened with a breath of relief.

"Stay there, (Y/n). Don't move," he ordered, his tone low and commanding.

Her stomach churned at the sudden sharpness in his gaze. He turned back from the window, disappearing from view, and she knew without a doubt what that meant. He was coming for her.

Her pulse pounded in her ears, and panic swelled in her chest. She couldn't wait any longer. Clenching her jaw, she forced herself to stand, biting back the cry that threatened to escape as her ankle protested. She stumbled forward, her steps uneven and clumsy, but she didn't care. She had to get away.

The cold earth beneath her feet mixed with the dull sting of glass cutting deeper into her skin with every step, but she pressed on. Pain gnawed at her, but fear drove her forward. Her breaths came in ragged gasps, each one burning her lungs as she sprinted, or rather, wobbled, across the estate grounds.

Her mind raced, searching for a way out. The walls were too high to climb, the gates were locked... But then she remembered something. The garage. If she could reach it, there might be a chance to escape. Her heart pounded faster at the thought.

Behind her, she heard the distinct sound of a door opening and slamming shut. Souta was coming.

She pushed herself harder, gritting her teeth against the searing pain in her ankle. Her legs felt like jelly, every step sending waves of agony up her spine. But she couldn't stop, not now. She couldn't afford to get caught. Her bloodied footprints marked her path, but she didn't have the luxury to care.

The garage loomed ahead, the large steel door wide open. Relief crashed over her like a wave. Thank God.

She remembered the last time she was here, Yuuto had needed a code to open the side door. That meant someone had likely left the garage open recently. One of them might be out, but that's good for me.

She pushed the thought aside, focusing only on getting inside. The gleaming cars lined up in neat rows under the bright lights became her beacon. Almost there.

Her heart raced as she stumbled into the garage, her footfalls echoing faintly against the smooth concrete floor. Behind her, she heard Souta's voice, sharp and desperate.

(Y/n) stumbled to the side of the garage, her breaths coming in short, ragged bursts. Her heart hammered wildly as she spotted a ceramic bowl filled with keys sitting on a workbench. This was her only chance. She thrusted her hands into the pile, frantically sifting through them until she grabbed a random key fob. Without hesitating, she pressed the lock and unlock buttons, her eyes darting around the garage to see which vehicle would respond.

A soft chirp echoed, followed by the flash of headlights- a sleek, maroon TransLux lit up near the far side of the garage.

"Perfect," she whispered, adrenaline surging through her veins.
