When the (h/c) haired girl finally decided to leave the roof of the building, she discovered that she had not only missed lunch, but also math. She couldn't help but feel that she was beginning to develop an unhealthy habit of skipping class...

So, she made it a point to make sure she was on time for her next class: history. Sliding into the classroom door right as the bell rang, (Y/n) let out a sigh of relief. Her eyes darted over to her assigned desk, one in which she shared with her purple haired friend.

Reina's concern was evident as she leaned over, her voice low to avoid disturbing the class. "Where were you? Aiko said she saw you this morning, but you missed lunch. Even Keiji was worried."

(Y/n) offered a reassuring smile. "It's a long story. I'll tell you later."

Reina looked like she wanted to say more, but decided against it when their teacher started talking.

"This week we will be doing small presentations, groups of two and two only. If you can't find a partner, then you will work alone," the teacher started, his voice grabbing the two girls' attention.

"The presentation will be due tomorrow, and I want you all to present about how Genghis Khan built his empire. Rubric will be lenient, I want you to have fun with the research-"

Reina leaned over, whispering, "Do you want to work together?" while keeping one ear on the teacher.

(Y/n) flashed a coy smile. "Obviously! You can come over to my place tonight. My parents usually aren't home until later," she affirmed, already tuning out the rest of the teacher's instructions.

Reina nodded, pleased with the plan. "Sounds good. Meet at the front gate after school?"

"Front gate it is," (Y/n) grinned, settling back in her chair as she waited for the school day to end.

(Y/n) stood by the front school gates with her arms crossed over her chest, the autumn air getting chillier and chillier with each passing day. It didn't take long for her to see Reina appear from the school doors, her fishtail braid neatly put together on her right shoulder.

Reina stopped in front of (Y/n), the shorter girl smiling politely as (Y/n) beamed. "I'm excited to work with you on this, actually," the (h/c) started as she led Reina in the direction of her house, "even though it's school related, I know you're usually busy."

Reina nodded slightly, her next words spoken with sympathy. "I know, I'm sorry. But I'm excited, too. It'll be nice to be around some female company for a change," she joked, walking side by side with her friend.

(Y/n) tilted her head at those words. "What do you mean? Do you have a lot of brothers or something?"

With a nod, Reina sighed. "Not a lot, but it's still a handful. Besides, you said you were going to tell me what happened with you and Emi earlier today," she added, smoothly changing the subject.

Realization hit (Y/n), and just as she was about to speak, she felt an unsettling sensation of being watched.

"Emi? Oh, right. Yeah, I'm not sure what happened," (Y/n) admitted. "She kinda dragged me to the roof of the building and just forced me to chill with her and her friend."
