The next evening, the Super Friends were at the alien bar.
- "Cheers." The four women, simultaneously, said.
- "This place is..." James frowned as he walked back to the table. "Exotic."
- "Hmm." Winn took a bite of chicken. "You know, for a place that caters to aliens, they have some pretty good chicken wings."
- "How do you know that's chicken?" Kara asked.
The Schott man's smile dropped.
- "Oh, yeah, that's not chicken." Mia shook her head.
- "What is it?" The tech guy asked.
- "Trust me, you don't wanna know." Xandar took a sip of his alien beer, smirking.
Winn looked at his other friends, in worry.
Maddie chuckled.
- "The latest in a series of armored truck robberies was thwarted last night when National City's newest crime fighter took a stand." A reporter on TV said.
- "The new guy. Of course." The younger Danvers scoffed.
- "Guardian?" The Olsen man cleared his throat. "I thought you said he helped Maddie."
The three telepaths smirked at each other, because they knew that he was Guardian.
- "He did." The Kryptonian nodded.
- "But?" The photograph frowned.
- "But, I don't know, I just don't think the city should be putting its trust in him so quickly." Kara said.
- "That I agree." The Matthews girl nodded. "It wouldn't the first time someone pretends to be good to screw everyone over at the end. But I trust this Guardian."
- "Yeah and, I mean, the armored truck robber that he stopped wasn't a joke. Apparently, it was, like, three versus one." James replied.
- "I didn't say he wasn't impressive. I just said I didn't know if he's trustworthy." The younger Danvers added.
- "Well, what do you have against the guy?" The Olsen man asked.
- "Ah, well, for starters, why wear a mask? Why cover your face when you're on the up and up?" The Kryptonian questioned. "I don't wear a mask."
- "You wear glasses and I manipulated people's minds so they don't recognize us." The quadbrid frowned.
- "Fair point." Kara nodded.
- "I will say this about the guy. He photographs well. Like, well, his suit does." The Schott man continued.
- "I bet he's working with a partner." Alex said.
- "Why? Why would you say that?" The tech guy asked, nervously.
He should try to be more obvious. Maddie looked at the Krillin siblings.
I know. If you want to have a secret identity, at least learn how to lie, man. The Krillin woman rolled her eyes.
It's not even that difficult to lie. The Krillin man added.
Humans. The telepaths, simultaneously, thought with a smile.
- "I'm just saying, in every situation, Guardian seems to be one step ahead. That screams sidekick." The older Danvers continued.
- "Sidekick? Okay, so if, if this guy actually had a number two, I think they would actually be more equals." Winn replied.
- "My cousin worked with a vigilante once. Tons of gadgets, Lots of demons. I mean, vigilantes are nuts." The younger Danvers said.
