Three weeks later, the day after Leo's nineteenth birthday, the geniuses were in their empty apartment.

- "So, everything is done." Donald said. "Meaning, you can move in now."

The couple smiled, looking around and imagining how it would look when they were done arranging it.

The father sniffled.

They turned to him.

- "Dad, are you crying?" Chase smiled, amused.

- "No." The scientist shook his head, turning around.

- "Aw, Donnie." Maddie walked up to him and hugged him from behind.

Donald smiled and put his hands on her forearms.

- "It's just that I'm proud of you both." He replied. "You were kids when we met and seeing the adults you're becoming. It's... It makes me emotional." He sniffled, wiping his eyes.

- "Aw." The couple said.

- "And knowing that you're having your own home, it makes me realize that you're really not coming home anymore." The father explained.

- "Okay, now, I'm gonna cry." The Matthews girl said, her eyes watering as she pulled away.

- "Dad..." The Davenport boy frowned, sadly. "We're always come home."

The scientist turned to them.

- "You raised us. You loved us. You saved us." The quadbrid replied. "We'll always come back to you."

- "Always and forever, dad." The bionic boy nodded. "At some point, you'll be sick of us."

- "I could never be sick of my children." Donald shook his head. "Come here." He opened his arms.

The couple smiled with tears in their eyes and walked closer, hugging him tight.

The father hugged them tighter, closing his eyes.

A couple of hours later, everyone was in Lena's secret underground lab.

- "It's a biolistic delivery system." She explained. "It's usually used for overwriting genes in crops, but Reign's cells are closer to plant cells than you'd think."

- "Part of how Kryptonians process sunlight." Chase added.

- "How does it work?" Supergirl asked.

- "You take particles of heavy metal, coat them in DNA, deliver the payload, and then overwrite Reign's DNA with Sam's." The Luthor woman replied. A big needle got into Reign's arm. "Plasmid inserted."

Let's hope it works. GreatGirl thought.

The Arias woman's eyes snapped open.

- "Payload rejected." The computer said.

The Matthews girl sighed. Shit.

- "I thought this would work." The green-eyed woman sighed. "I just need the right vectors with the right metal. I just need more time."

- "Yes." The villain replied. "Give Lena more time. She doesn't have much left. Because when I'm free, I'm gonna rip out her spine. And when that's done, I'm gonna crack this planet in half, and you'll hear every scream..."
