“Come on,” Chloe smiled to me as she walked into the lounge to see me slouched on the sofa watching some cooking show that I wasn’t even paying any attention to – still thinking about the near kiss that happened four days ago whilst bathing Katy. “It’s a Saturday night and I’m not having you sitting around the empty apartment all night. George is out, Katy’s at his mum’s for the weekend so I’m taking you out for a night out around town.”

I shook my head. “No,” I said. “No offence, Chloe, but I just wanna have an early night. I’m shattered and..”

“No buts. You’re coming out and that’s final,” Chloe smiled at me, interrupting me mid-sentence.

“But..”

“No buts.”

After a few moments of looking at her, I reluctantly gave in. Maybe it would do me some good getting out of the apartment.

“Good girl,” she grinned, dragging me up off the sofa by my arms. “Now go get ready and I expect you to look like a princess.”

“Fat chance of that,” I laughed to myself as I walked into the bedroom I once shared with George to rummage through my wardrobe to find something to wear.

“Fat chance of looking like a princess?” Chloe said as I walked into the lounge half an hour later. “You look stunning.”

“It’s only a black dress,” I sighed.

I did not want to go out at all.

As the music blared through the night-club, I sat slumped on a sofa as I watched Chloe dancing with a bunch of girls on a hen night. I hated to be a kill joy but I really did not want to be in a club feeling like this. After a more few songs had been played, my phone began to ring.

“Hello.”

There was no reply.

“Hello?”

There was still no reply.

“Who is this?” I asked, getting quite frustrated.

“Can you hear me?” I heard a voice faintly say on the other end of the phone line.

“Only just,” I said, getting up from the sofa and making my way through the club to the toilets.

“Sammy?”

“Yeah,” I replied as I walked into the toilets.

“It’s Justin.”

“That’s better,” I smiled as I could hear him properly. “Oh, hey.”

“Where are you?” he laughed.

“My best-friend, Chloe, dragged me out so I’m currently sat on the floor in the girls’ bathroom,” I grinned.

“Sounds fun,” he joked.

“It’s really not,” I smiled.

“I was just wondering if you wanted to do something but since you’re busy, it doesn’t matter.”

“No,” I laughed. “I’m not busy. I’d actually beg someone to save me from this. I really don’t wanna be here. It’s Chloe’s idea of making me get over George, but it’s seriously not working.”

“Oh right,” Justin said. “Where shall I meet you then? Scooter’s borrowed my car so..”

I interrupted me. “Are you at your apartment?” I asked.
