As Ken drove the car down the back streets of London towards Lisa’s office at the main Sony building, I sat in the back, flicking through my photos on my phone of Katy from the minute she was born to now. It was unreal how fast she had grown up. I felt guilty leaving her to go to meetings though but I knew she was safe with George. That was another thing I felt guilty for – George. Things had changed in the past three months. I knew before Katy was born that we’d have to both grow up a lot but I never knew it meant that things would change completely.

“Sammy,” Ken said, interrupting my trail of thought as I sat in the back of the car, staring into space.

“Yeah,” I smiled, shaking my head back into reality.

“We’re here,” he laughed. “I’ll be back to pick you up in three hours.”

“Oh,” I said, looking out of the window and up at the Sony building in a daze. “Okay.”

I shuffled across the back seats and opened the door of Ken’s Range Rover. “Have fun,” he smiled to me before I shut the door.

Walking towards the lobby’s entrance, I noticed an army of teenage girls surrounding the front of the building. It was obvious they weren’t here for me as they didn’t even batter an eyelid as I walked through the middle of them towards the lobby. As I finally managed to get through the security waiting outside the lobby entrance, I turned back around to look out of the lobby windows at the screaming fangirls who had barricaded the doors. Continuing to walk forward, I didn’t realise someone was walking towards me as I was still looking at the fangirls outside and accidentally bumped into them. Falling back onto the floor behind me with a bang, I looked up at the person I’d just collided with but couldn’t see because of the February sun gleaming through the window.

“I am so sorry,” a familiar voice said as a hand appeared in front of me for me to take.

“Don’t worry about it,” I laughed awkwardly as I took hold of the hand. “It was my fault.”

As the hand pulled me up, I dusted myself off before looking at the unknown person. I almost fell over again as I saw who it was. Before I had chance to comprehend with what has just happened, they had rushed off and become surrounded with various bodyguards as they began to make their way outside and through the deafening screams of the fans waiting outside.

Still in awe, I made my way to the reception to sign in.

“Sammy,” the receptionist smiled to me. “Lisa’s in her office waiting for you already.”

I didn’t even respond. Instead, I just looked at the mayhem that had exploded outside the building in shock.

“Hold on a sec, Sammy,” Lisa said to me, ushering me to sit down as she sat at her desk on the phone.

Taking a seat on the sofa besides her desk, I looked straight out of the window at the view of London city below. It still amazed me when I met someone famous but I don’t think anybody could get used to it, especially me.

“Right,” she smiled to me after she placed the phone back down on the desk.

It was at that moment that I knew I had another lecture from Lisa fast approaching me. Sinking back into the cushion on the sofa, I prepared to switch off like I usually did on the lectures. Lisa began to start talking and I was right – it was another lecture of ways we could get my career back on track. I thought I was sleeping with my eyes open until Lisa mentioned something that caught my attention.

“I had a meeting with someone before you came here and they seem very interested in doing a duet with you and I think this could launch your career worldwide.”
