61. Looking

Curtis Pov:

We all head out of the village, not really knowing where to start our search. Jed leads the way from the information Holly gave him.
We just follow his lead. Eventually, the rain gets so bad from flooding that we decided Kaden will fly. So Jed just tells him the way.we are able to go much further and faster without our females. The winds do not hamper us from holding on. I watch the change of forests as we pass over them. The area we are going to seems to be around a sheep village on grassy hills, but it will take us a few days to get there. We do spot some ferals, but they are loners. From what we were told, it was a pack of ferals who took Holly's female cub. I miss Paige and our unhatched egg. I used to watch our female cub egg every night. She will be spoiled. Truth is, I'm afraid of being a father. Not that I don't want to be. It's the ancestors' memory that scares me. I don't doubt Paige would love our cubs, but I doubt our cubs would have their memories intact and be able to differentiate the two. I feel bad and stressed. If we have cubs, would she love me less cause we can't keep our cubs? Ha.. I doubt Paige would love me less, but the fact she can keep her other cubs, but the stigma of my cubs might make her not want them with me. Will they scare her or hurt her? I really wish I was another clan. The thoughts I've been having have been nonstop. as well as the stress with it. I hope Paige doesn't have cubs with me she'd be heartbroken. That's why my clan is such a failure..
Jed knows this as well. He has the same thoughts, problem is Paige can become pregnant at any time, and I don't want her to think I don't want her cause I always crave my mates touch or attention.

We get to a higher spot with only trees around the hill. There's no cover, but Paige already thought of that. She sewn us a hide tent. It's a smart idea it took a lot of hide to make, and I recall having to poke holes in the hide for her to sew it. Then she covered the thing in sting bug wax. All we have to do is go get a few wood poles. It's supposed to have one in the middle and eight on the sides. The hide has holes at the bottom to push short sticks into the ground. This will help keep it in place. Muir and I gather wood poles. Kaden, Max, and Jeb go hunting. Jace gathers firewood. Winston gets the area ready, and the rest of us scout around. I start putting up the tent. It's a bit of a struggle, but we get it, and it works. I go in, and it's much dryer. The ground is wet, but we are males, and that's the last thing to give a shit about. We collect moss for inside. We ring it out from water and throw it inside after we get tall grass and stuff it inside, too, making a nest of sorts. Paige, you wonderful mate. She worried about us getting cold or wet at night, so she made this for us. I'm very touched even though we males don't need to worry it's a good feeling to know she loves us so much and of course we will use the gift she gave us. I can't wait to be home in my Paiges arms. Jace starts a fire, and we pull the pouch of dried medicine Paige gave us for cooking. We roast the meat still very rare, but we used to eat raw meat. We cook it enough to have the taste but early enough to sleep fast so we can leave early.

"I'll keep watch tonight. i have the best vision out of all of us except Kaden, and he's flying." We nod. Muir is right out of each one of us it would be Muir then Winston. Snakes use smell. Our eyes are pretty bad on focusing at night. Kaden has the best vision and smell, but we need this two-headed dragon to fly us tomorrow. Me and Kaden bonded pretty well him Damian, and Winston has been more or less brothers to me by now. Caspian is growing on me he's quiet, so he's not bad. I still have trouble with Shuu being so young, but he is very loyal, so I don't mind him. Harvey, well, he's the one who can read what Paige wants the most I envy him. What I would do to be like Harvey.. Muir, Lucien, they are good to Paige and make her happy, so I don't mind them either.

"Muir, we cut wood over the hill here. You can find sticks to make a covered nest in the trees." I point the way.

"Okay, I'll do that. I'm waking you first, Curtis." I shrug.

We go into the tent all but Muir. We all lay down in our forms except Kaden, of course, cause he's way too big.

Paige's Pov:

Ugg, this is going to be a long few months, I think, as I start puking again.
Holly's helping me so is Harvey and Shuu. I clean up, still feeling fatigued from earlier when I had to run outside and empty my breakfast. Harvey checks me.

"My love, you're doing good as far as the pregnancy, but I'll make you something for nausea. Lucien, those fruits that you got Paige last time, can you find them?" He asked Lucien.

"Of course I was going to while I go hunting. Paige, don't move around. Just stay comfortable and rest." I nod, then there goes Holly running out. Harvey follows with Parker and Markus. I go too. I rub Holly's back.
Eventually, we're both laying in the front living room for half the day. Luckily, Lucien and Parker bring back those bitter fruits. Harvey makes us ginger tea, which helps too. After a while, we're chatting doing some crocheting.

"Hey Paige, would you like me to make abalone nest?" Caspian asks me.

"That's a great idea!" I hug him. I can't wait!

After a few hours finally. Shuu and I are done with his mother's gift. I made her a cute dress that's black with a grey crochet warm shall. And a necklace with a bracelet of wolves out of purple and blue stones. It's very cute. Shuu carved the stones, and I did the knots on the bracelet and necklace. We did do liquid soaps for her and a comb in a box that was mostly Shuu. I figured it would have only mine and Shuu's scent, so it won't make her mates uncomfortable.
We start getting everything we need gathered because we are having them over tonight. Damian and Lucien are cleaning with lemon water to make sure our house is clean. Me and Holly start going through foods to make and Rosa is coming but she's late as usual.
