33. Helping

Parkers Pov:

Elodie isn't doing too well her fever has been steadily going up. I need to find Harvey.. I'm too far north to now go back. I keep Elodie wrapped nice and keep my pace. I'm only stopping when I need to. Please be here. Stopping, I sniff the air. It's a weak scent, but I'm getting closer. I push my legs through the night running as fast as I can. Following the scent of Harvey.
I ran into a Hawk who used to work for my father.

"Hey Carter! I need your help! I'm looking for Harvey, a leopard healer. My female cub is sick." I shout. He circles around me and lands. Inspecting Elodie. He nods, and I get on his back holding Elodie. We fly north. We see a few scattered beastmen, but we avoid them.
Carter flies the rest of the way. The morning after we land, we spot them. They are getting ready to ride the Dragon Prince. I slide down, running to them.

"Harvey! Please check my female cub. She's not doing well." I plee.
Harvey looks at me flatly. Paige, Harvey's female, also walks over.
I handed Elodi to the female.

"Harvey, he's right.. she looks really sick." Paige says to Harvey.
Harvey looks at Elodie with a nod.

"She has a pretty bad cold. Other than that, she's been fed well and cleaned. I'll get medicine for her." Harvey goes to pull some medicine out of a sack.

"So Parker, how did you come by the female cub?" She asked me. My ears go flat, and I look down.

"I owe you an apology... I'm sorry I was wrong about Bai. I stayed helping everyone get out of the city. I have seen Bai leading a group of ferals. When the other who stayed either died or ran. I found Elodie. Standing there crying. Her whole family was killed. As if they didn't matter. The female her mates. Elodie was the last. So I took the cub in. I named her. She's now my responsibility. I will treasure her and be her father beast, but look, I even failed at that." I wimper..

"Parker, I accept your apology. Also, you've been taking care of Elodie on your own. You did a pretty good job. I can tell you wrapped her nicely with warm furs, the basket, her clothes, and even she's been eating well. You brushed her hair. You may be a pain in the butt sometimes, but you do care. I'd say over care. The problem is you over cared for a female who didn't care at all." She smirks at me. She's right. I did everything I could for Elodie. I let out a shaky breath and fell over in exhaustion.

"Just give me a minute.. I ran two days straight.." I huff out. I look over even if Carter is worn out.

"Parker, you can come with us to get to safety, and we will help with Elodie. I hate to tell you, but most females won't take in a female cub that isn't theirs. So you have a few options. You can always try to be with Beth or Rosa if they want you.
Or just ride with us until we are safe and find your own female." He nods to me a silent thank you.
I point to Carter.

"Yes, that male can come too. Maybe that male might help you raise the female cub as well."

"I'm back. we need to give her this medicine. Can you get her to drink?" Harvey asked me while handing a bowl to me. So I coo Elodie awake.

"Elodie.. shh shh.. I'm here, cub. Drink for me, okay? They Rlodie can have fruits." She wakes up slowly and drinks the bitter medicine gagging. So I reach in my pouch for a piece of fruit to feed her. She takes it and nibbles on it.

"Good cub." I rock her back to sleep.

"Good job, Parker. Common, let's go. I'll take Elodie for you so you can drag yourself up, okay?" Paige tells me jokingly. I chuckle, but she's right. I drag myself up onto her Dragon mate.
Paige is holding Elodie. Her males surround my cub with smiles.
I hope the female I get will do the same for Elodie.
Carter climbs up onto the dragons back, too. I do as well. Now that everyone is loaded, we fly off. Thank you, beast God, for letting me find Harvey.
The females hold Elodie gushing over how cute she is. I smile and fall asleep.

Paiges Pov:

"She is so precious! Poor cub, let your aunt Holly hold you come here." Holly takes Elodie, wrapping another fur around the cub, making she she's warm. Rose sits by Holly. I scoot over, too.

"So he apologized? Never thought I'd see the day, but I'm glad I did." Rosa says.

"Well, he knew he did wrong he said sorry so we can all move past it. Isn't the cub just so cute?" Holly rocks the cub. Her snake male slides up, hugging Holly from behind. I look back at Curtis, who slides up to me as well and hugs me. He nuzzles my shoulder. Touching his cold hand, I give a squeeze. I lean my head onto where Curtis is on my shoulder.

"Yeah, everyone makes mistakes he did, but he made it right. So I'm over it. All Parker did was being loud and mean. Love can be blind." They giggle.

"Then Parker was a bat with Bai.." Rosa says. We nod but speak nothing more on that subject. The only thing we talk about is our hubby's and how tired we all are. How cute the cub is.
I lean back on Curtis and fall asleep a much needed nap.

Muir Pov:

I sit making a pretty hair pin for Paige. I saw Lucien making her one. Maybe she will accept me. It's everything about her I love.
I just wish I wasn't so shy. This pretty stone reminds me of her eyes vibrant blue. The white half of the stone, I'll carve a Hawk on it. I hope she will like it. From all her hair pins, I can tell she does like them. She likes adorments on her. Shuu comes over to me and sits.

"So what are you working on, Muir?" He looks over at the pin, but I cover it. I'm not sure how he will react. Then I just show it to him. His reaction was a bit shocked.

"You're making a hairpiece for my female?" I nod.

"I'm going to ask her to accept me." I explain myself.

"That won't work.. you need to get to know her more. Then she will accept if she likes you." He tells me. I look at the pin sadly.

"She does think you're good looking, but just give her the pin you never know. I do know one thing. Just start talking to her, but if you hurt her.. I can't promise you'll make it out alive." Looking at him, I know he's telling the truth. So I need to just speak with her more. I look at her sleeping in her mates arms. I will try. I nod.
I finish the pin as we land for lunch. Paige wakes up running for the sand pit area with her male Kaden.

Paige's Pov:

Ah... finally... I almost peed myself.. I don't think my hubby's would care, but still, I'm not gonna piss on them unless I can help it.
I finish.

"Kaden, I need to wash my hands."

"Okay, Paige, let's find you a stream." He kisses my forehead. I smile at him. Winston comes over, too.

"Hi, my handsome Tiger. We're looking for a stream to wash my hands at."

"I seen one not too far when we were landing. It's this way, Paige." Winston leads the way. I go clean my hands, finding a nice patch of wild onions.. oo..

"Kaden, Winston, look, it's wild onion!" They chuckle already knowing me too well. They start picking them up for me.
I kiss Kadens back as he's picking the onions, and he lets out a low vibrating growl. I giggle. I can't help myself, so I skim my hands all over his back and chest, kissing his neck.

"Do you need something else, Paige?" Kadens eyes go dark as he looks up to me. I nod, then look at Winston. Winston walks to me and puts his hands on my hips, running down my thigh.

"Words, Paige." Winston growls out. Oh yeah, I just set a fire with my two most dominant hubby's. Kekeke.. whoops..

"I want you both to help me. Can you do that for me?" I ask in a needy moan.

"And what do we need to do?" They grin at me.
