39. Egg

Parkers Pov:

I've been watching Holly a lot lately. She helps me take care of Elodie. She's a good mother. Elodie smiles at me, calling me da da. I pick her up ready to get her some fruits and meat to eat. Holly comes over to me.

"Hi Parker. Hi Elodie. She's so cute."
I smirk.

"Hi Holly. She's getting big too. I'm about to give her some lunch. Do you need anything? I can get you fruits or.."

"Parker I think we need to talk about arrangements for Elodie. Well.. I mean. I want you to be my mate. I really like you a lot. Your heart is in the right spot. Your very caring. I want Elodie to join our family." I study Holly's eyes. She looks at me with love? She's good to Elodie and me. Can i do this? Holly is beautiful too. She would carry cubs well.

"I'd love to be your mate Holly." I walk up to her putting my hands on her waist. I kiss her cute nose and rest my forehead to hers. Holly just hugs me and Elodie. This feeling.. I'm home. I smile.
Holly leads me back to the camp. She takes Elodie from me placing her into Jeds lap. He's her feral snake mate but he's real nice we've kind of bonded over the time. Jed is real good with Elodie too. I'm greatfull. I squeeze Holly's hand as she smiles up at me.
I've never been this happy before. This who time I never knew what I really wanted until now. Thank you Beast God..

I pick Holly up. She laces her arms around my neck. As I nuzzle close to her getting her scent of beautiful flowers.

I lay Holly down in the furs. She's gorgeous. We kiss and it leads to us mating.

~hours later~

I caress my mark on Holly's collarbone. Beautiful.

Winston's Pov:

Finally got Paige asleep. I nod to the others as I go to hunt. Hopefully the land shake didn't scare the prey. I walk outside and I smell a male. Not like the others.

"Show yourself." I command.
Alva comes flying down. I growl at him.

"I um.. figured I'd go with you?" Alva says. My growling becomes louder. This male doesn't know when to stop.

"That isn't happening!" I roar.

"I know I can prove myself to Paige! I am sure I can. I.. well she just didn't give me a chance." Alva plees with me.

"No she doesn't like you." I see Jed slither up to us. He's holding the little female cub. He gives Alva a once over look boredly."
Elodie reaches out to Alva. Wanting to be held. Alva looks at her with a aww.
He picks up Elodie and the first thing the little cub grabs is Alvas hair.

"Ouch um.. Hi cub." Alva says.

"It's settled you'll be Elodies guardian beast." Jed shrugs.

"Wait what but i.." Alva studies Elodie then smiles.

"Okay I'll accept." I nod walking away.

Kadens Pov:

Searching for colossals isn't very hard to do. They prefer tropic areas which there is here. I follow the rocky coast. Ah there. Landing on one's back I get my claws in it's neck. I hear a gutteral roar but it doesn't last long as it falls over bleeding out. I dig into it's head. Perfect! I find a emrald inside. I start to fly back when a few mer clan males surround me.

"Kill it!" One shouts.. great.

"How dare you! Attack me and you all die." I roar.

"You feral need to leave!" Another says.

"Feral? I'm the Dragon prince!" I puff my chest proudly.
I hear them murmur.

"Sorry for the mistake. We are looking for our female. She was stolen." A blue haired merman explains.

"I haven't seen. I am busy my female has been injured so I need to get back." I tell them and fly away.

Paiges Pov:

I wake up to something being shoved in my mouth. I swallow it still groggy I rub my eyes and see Kaden. He's not blurry. I sit up hugging him.

"Kaden!" I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my face into his hair. Resting my head on his shoulder.

"Paige did it work?" I nod.

"Yes.. thank you." I hear a slight chuckle from him.

"You don't have to thank me."

"But I appreciate what you do. Each one of you I appreciate. You all work so hard to provide for me. It's good to hear how thankful someone is."

"Your right I do. I'm very happy that everything we do does hold importance to you." Kaden hugs me tightly back. Then a raging pain in my back makes me sob out.

"Oh my god ouch.. ouch.." I wince and hold my stomach.
Harvey runs up examining me.

"Now? This... is early.. Damian?"

"I don't know it's never happened." Damian looks just as confused as Harvey.

"Okay I need warm water. I need some furs. Get my pouch and a basket. Curtis I need.." Harvey starts listing things.

"Emralds? I'll find them.."

"Will someone tell me what's happening? Tss..." the pain is unbearable.

"Paige look at me. Your in early labor. There's nothing to stop it. We just have to hope for the best. I'm here okay? Shuu hold her leg. Damian hold her hand. and wipe her face down. Muir other leg. Where is Winston?"

"Hunting.." Shuu says.

"Good. Lucien your going to have to help me. Paige did you not want Caspian here?"

"Are.. you seriously asking..tss.. this right now?" I snap a bit. Damian stifles a laugh.
Hours and hours of pain..
I'm sticky with sweat my hair is stuck to my face and my guts feel like their being ripped out. I finally push this cub out. I lay back trying to catch my breath. I don't hear crying and I try to look over.

"Paige it's an egg." I sigh plopping back out of breath and pass out.

Lucien's Pov:

Studying the egg it's smooth but scaley. It's a brilliant blue color. We all look happy. I touch the egg feeling the female cub inside. She's alive. The egg starts to get a big cold so I hand it to Damian.

"What now?" I ask.

"We have to keep her warm until she hatches." Damian says.

"So are we stuck here for a while?" Harvey asks while helping Shuu wash Paige.

"We have to get to a warm spot."

Winston starts to cook a stag he got. Curtis did find a few crystals and a emrald. We get new furs for the bedding. Damian lays the egg in the basket surrounded by furs.

"Know of a warm spot. It's near the desert though." Curtis tells up. I hate that idea. It must be done though.
I go outside of the cave to find Holly and Rosa. I spot the males and explain the plan to them.
They tell me they'd need to find out what their female wants. Which I agree. No mate wants to anger their female.

I go back inside the cave seeing Damian hugging the egg to keep it warm. It's about the size of a long neck birds egg just a bit bigger than that.
I rub Paiges face. She did a good job.

"So Harvey why do you think the egg came out so fast?" I ask curiously if he has a idea.

"I don't know but maybe just like a bird?" Harvey says.

"That could be.." Kaden speaks up.
