78. Finally Food

Paige's Pov:

I'm lounging at the table playing with Faith. All my hubby's just got back home with dinner. Azrael brought spices, herbs, and some vegetables. I am so excited cause he brought cabbage, tomatoes and carrots. So my idea is when they are done cleaning the meat, I'm going to make stuffed cabbage leaves. I'll grind the meat and mix it with carrot, cheese, garlic, onion, and rosemary. I'll stuff it into a cabbage leaf and roll it with crushed tomatoes, then top it with cheese. It will be delicious. I have twelve cabbage heads, so it's a perfect dinner. I see Damian walk in with the meat.

"Curtis, take Faith. I'm going to start dinner." I hand him our cub and kiss him. I go into the kitchen. Cleaning my hands.
I boil the tomatoes, carrots, and cabbage separately. I look at the meat. I need to figure out how to make it ground up. I'll just explain to my hubby's what I need.
They end up grinding up the meat inside a bowl with their hands. Of course, I had them wash their hands. I figured their nails could cut up the meat pretty well.
I get the meat and mix up everything. I start putting the cabbage rolls in a few big pots, pouring the tomatoes that were mashed in the pots over the rolls. I add some cheese to the top and cover the pots with a lid to let it all cook.
Yum.
I wash my hands, looking at my masterpiece. I made six big Dutch ovens full of stuffed cabbage rolls. This will be good.

"Paige, that looks delicious." Azrael tells me.

"I hope all of you like it." My cooking class at school taught me how to make it.
I start putting everything away. Lucien helps me clean the kitchen. We pull the dishes out to set the table. I gather a few fruits to make a berry juice for dinner. I'll add it to tea. I eat a few fruits too.

After an hour we get dinner set up and we all eat. It's so good. My hubby's like it, too.
We wash up for bed. Azrael will sleep in the extra bedroom for now while I get to know him.

~morning~

I wake up a bit dizzy, but it goes away as I stretch. Shuu helps me do my morning routine. Faith slept until I got up, so I took her to get a bath, too.
After everything, I see Azrael with a sack looking through it.

"What are you doing today?" I smile at him.

"I'm getting ready for the market. Would you like to join me?" Oh, that sounds fun.

"Sure, I'd like to go. Let me get Faith bundled up and get warm clothes on. I can bring Caspian and Winston with us, too." He smiles at me. I go look for Caspian and find him cleaning up from breakfast.

"Caspian, will you go with me and Azrael to the market?" I ask him.

"Of course I'll go with you, pearl." He kisses me.

"Yes! We need to bring Winston, too."

"I'll get him." Shuu smiles, telling me.

"Shuu, you can go too. I'd love you joining us." I tell him.

"Okay, let me get Winston, and I'll gather the basket for Faith." That's a great idea.

"Okay, I'll get ready." I take our daughter to get her dressed in some warm clothes. I place her in some fur blankets. I get dressed in some warmer clothes too. I do my hair with a braided bun. Grabbing a few extra furs, Shuu comes in to help me.

"We are all ready, bun." I chuckle.

"Okay, perfect. Maybe we can sell some of the soaps, too." I have a lot of soap made. So I'm curious. But I'm not sure it's done yet. I go down into the cellar to check it. It's actually ready, just not cut yet. I guess I can cut it in bars and wrap them with a hide. That would be pretty neat.

Harvey comes and helps me. This is the extra soaps my hubby's made when we had fixed our house up. They went over board on making a bunch of soaps, and I need the room. I look at all the stone jars of hair shampoo and all the bars we have a bunch of it. Harvey and Shuu decided to pack all of them in a few large baskets.

We go to the market setting everything up. Winston holds Faith. Every now and then, you can hear her giggle. She really loves to pull hair right now.
Caspian helps Azrael and Shuu is helping me hand them the soaps to display, too.
It's kind of cold out, but that's because it's still a bit early. I see other vendors setting up their stalls, too.
I ignore the males looking at me, but it still makes me feel awkward.
I go sit on a fur behind my hubby's. Winston joins me, sitting beside me. I take Faith in my arms, and we play peekaboo for a bit. It starts to get warm as the sun comes out. It's bright outside now because the water reflecting added with no clouds.
It starts to get packed just forty minutes after we set everything up. Males and females, their cubs start to shop. We sell a few soaps to some females. Most females here aren't very talkative.
I see a fox cub peek at us from behind the stall. His father is buying some things. The fox is a pure black fluffy coat of fur. He's adorable. When Faith giggles, the cub looks over, trying to get a good look at our cub.

"Cub leave the female and her female cub alone. Don't upset them." I overheard the father's stern voice.

"It's not really an issue for me. I don't mind your cub looking." I tell him.

"He's  not my cub female. He's my brother. I thought he'd bother you." The fox male says. He's handsome. I'll give him that.

"No.. not at all. If the cub is curious, he can look." I pull Faith out of the furs because it is getting warmer. The cubs eyes get wide. His tail starts wagging.

"Cub, don't touch. This is the Fox Kings cub and female." The male tells the young fox.
