18. Attacked

Paiges Pov:

We walk home silent from the earlier trial. Bai chose to stay and find two mates. She was so pissed. The Kings told her she has two weeks to get one mate. Then, two weeks later, to get another. Also, she must move out of the house Parker has. It will be held until Parker is released. I think the Kings judgment was fair. It made sense about having that law. I didn't read that in the story either.
We all go inside. Shuu carries me to a comfy seat he sits me down and kneels in front of me.

"Were you really treated badly?" His ears down, he gives me a sad look. I just nod.

"Paige, I will protect you forever, okay?" He runs his fingers through my hair.

"Thank you, Shuu. Aren't you forgetting something?" I giggle. He looks at me confused.
"Go get your things to move in silly."

"Oh! Yes! I'll be back, Paige." He grins, and his tail wags. He heads out, running off.

I look around the house now we need a table and seating. I need a grinder as well. Maybe a juice squeeze to. I look at my hubby's and smile.

"Are all the projects done?"

"Yes, they are all done. Did you have any ideas for other things?" Winston asks me.

"Umm, yeah.. I wanted to dig up the ground in that small bath room. To lay down clay pipes for a toilet. Maybe get some water running to a stone tank that runs to the toilet. For now, just the tank and some clay pipes, we can use two sizes of bamboo to make it. Um.. and seating. A couch, chairs, and a table. The pipes we will need to make a lot. But to do that, we need pine sap to make pine tar. Or hooves of goats and bison. Either one can make a type of glue." I tell them.

"I'll go get wood. Harvey, you'll make the table and chairs. Curtis says.

"I'll go get the clay and bamboo also pine sap." Winston tells me.

"And I'll be right here digging a tank and toilet and a bath tub like you asked for last time. I'll make sure Paige is watched." They nod and head out.
I start crocheting the quilt more.
When I hear a knock at the door. I go open the door, and Shuu is standing there holding a sack of items.

"Come in welcome home, Shuu." I hug him. He hugs me and kisses me softly.

"Wow, this is amazing. What is this?" Shuu starts pointing a things so I explain what it all is. After we sit down and I am so tired of crocheting... I sigh, setting the half done blanket down.

~next day~

"I woke up and went right to my crafts for the house all my hubby's, but Shuu are doing house projects. I sigh every once in a while. I'm sitting with Shuu getting to know each other. He's amazing, sweet, and confident, and he has a great sense of humor. When he needs to be, he's very militant. He's so handsome, too. I feel a connection with Shuu in a different way. Just like with Harvey since we're young. Curtis, Winston, and Damian I have a different kind of connection, like when you feel safe, but you relate to their experiences. Shuu and Harvey have the playful side, which I can play with them and be silly. I guess that's the best way to explain it. I finally feel home. My hubby's are home no matter where we go or what happens.

"Are you okay, Paige? Do you need something?" He asks.

"I need a break from this project. My eyes feel like they are crossing." I laugh a bit.

"How do you do it maybe I can do the rest for you?" Shuus, so sweet.

"That won't do. I have to get more wool.. I won't have enough still. I need a lot more wool, to be honest." I look at the little ball left of wool yarn.
