68. Tunnels

Kaden's Pov:

We look to the north facing mountain as it crashes down, breaking apart. We all head twords it, knowing Winston and Muir were near here. With their scent, we know they are under the rubble.

"Dig from the top so it doesn't collapse further." I tell them. We start removing boulders and trees. Looking for any sign. We smell their blood. Hoping for the best that they are alive, we keep digging.

Paige's Pov:

"Paige, sit down, pearl. It won't be good stressing. If you want I can go find them." Caspian offers.

"No.. what if you get hurt, too.." I sob out.

"Paige, I'll go. I can fly faster than Kaden. I'll find them. Okay?" Damian tells me. I hug him.

"No, I have to trust them. They know what their doing. They will protect each other." Lucien kisses my head, walking out the door.

"No! Lucien!" I run to the door, but he's already gone. I cry..

Lucien's Pov:

I can't stand this any longer those stupid cubs making Paige worry. I give her a kiss. I'll be right back, Paige. I love you.

I pull a pearl off of my bracelet. Throwing it down, it shattered into a dust. I see Muir and Winston huddled in a dark hole of some kind. They look very hurt. Ha.. I run into the dust of the pearl. Ending up beside Winston. This is why you don't tell a winter fox your name. We are very good at stalking who we wish if we know what you look like and your name. The grip of a fox is eternal.

"So what happened?" I ask Winston.

"Lucien?" He rubs his eyes. I hold up a luminous pearl.

"Yes, it's me. Seems like we need to dig, but both of you can't. So I will." I tell them. I look at their wounds. Tsk.. painful. I would use another pearl, but I'm saving them. I start digging up. As the cave fills Winston climbing with Muir up further on the broken stones. It takes hours, but we reach Kaden.

"Lucien?! How?" Kaden asks.

"Don't worry about it. Take Muir out first." He nods, picking him up then Winston. I jump out with ease.

"We all need to go back it won't do good looking in this weather. We would only have ferals and the storm against us." I tell them.

"No, we found her. We just can't get to her. We need someone who can tunnel." Kaden says.

"O? Well then, let's get her and go. Kaden, you're useless in a tunnel you watch Muir. Winston, I'll need you to help. I have one emrald left, so take it." He nods, swallowing it. We hear his bones pop back in. Winston groans.

"Show me where it is. All of you. I'm in charge now. A tunnel is very deadly. You will listen to me no matter what, even if the female is in front of us. If I say we go, we go. It may have traps inside. Step where I do. If you don't. Don't blame me for beating your cub asses. I'm too old to have to repeat myself, and our mates are waiting for us." I look at Jed, my old friend who nods to me in agreement.

"Like old times, fox." Jed says.

"Snake.." I grunt.
Winston starts showing us the way. We see a myriad of tunnels. I shift, then start smelling each tunnel entrance. Hm.. there's four good tunnels. I mark them with a stick.
I nod and jump down one. Smelling the air. As soon as I smell it, this tunnel starts to collapse. I jump out fast. Heh..
I go to the second jumping in smelling. Jed follows me. We start walking. I lightly paw the area.
We get a ways, but under my paw, the ground gives out to a pit of spikes.
I look at Jed, who nods.
Curtis brings me a log. We set it across the pit. Slowly, we go across.

We see feral scouts, wolves, tigers, snakes, and a scorpion. We all out attack in the confinement of the small area. I nip and trip the stupid tiger. Winston's so much better at fighting than this Tiger. So I throw the Tiger to Winston. The wolves move backward.. I notice the trap they try to lead us to. So I throw a stone to set the trap on the two wolves. I hear a few whines. I get a claw to the hind leg. I yelp, turning around, and I pounce on the Scorpion. Ripping its carapice digging into its bloody flesh. Its tail goes down, trying to sting me, so I move, letting it sting itself. I latch its tail ripping it off so it can't give itself the antidote. I jump off of it as it hisses and moves weird. I jump onto the snake. It's held by Curtis, who's trying to bite it. So I attacked it. It tries to bite me, but Curtis gets him first, not letting go. Curtis wraps it in his coils with the help of Jed and Jace.
After we take a break, breathing heavy.

five hours later~

Exhausted, we finally get to the opening. After killing feral after feral.. trap after trap. We'er bloody and, clawed up bitten, it was a long tunnel. We see the Scorpion king. With the bitch who hurt my mate. The Scorpion king tries to attack us but doing so the female gets pushed into a pit. We fight him almost over powering him but he gets away. We see the cages of females. Holly's daughter being one of them. Jed goes to Holly's cub picking her up.

Winston's Pov:

"Please save me! I was forced to help them or they'd kill me. Please?"
I look into the pit seeing Bai standing there. Clean no bruises with mate marks of feral.. I grit my teeth. I turn and walk to the wall. I grab a branch. Lighting it from the fire. I look at the logs. I push logs into the pit. She steps on them.

"Bring more so I can climb out." Bai screams. I watch her.. I throw the torch in the pit.

"No!! Please!" I walk away. Looking at each of the males eyes. Nobody says anything. Bai shreiks and cries. She climbs out with a few burns especially on her feet. We leave her there.

"No! No! Don't go! You son of a bitch! Fuck you! I should have killed that bitch!" Bai screams throwing a tantrum. We head back.
