81. Scouting

Paige's Pov:

We gather up all the ingredients to make a very big but, delicious breakfast.
Harvey did have cinnamon which I'm so happy about cause now I can make  really good cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Azrael finished with the peanuts. I go take my jar out that I made yeast in, perfect. I start the rolls and potatoes first cause they take the longest to cook. My hubby's come back with some boar and short bird. Hmm not sure on what to do with the short bird so I just add that with the potato hash it will be good. I washed all the vegetables added the onions and spices first for the flavor. Then I add the potatoes and bell peppers, and chicken. I have Azrael help with the dough with cinnamon, butter, and boiled sugar to make like a molasses consistency. The rest is easy to do. We cook pork belly, eggs, and pancakes. I see Russ and Sandy come in.

"Hi! We are doing a breakfast meal for dinner I hope you don't mind. Let's go sit so we can visit. I'll get Azrael and Kaden to cook the rest." I look at my hubby's who smile going into the kitchen to finish cooking.

"It smells so good. I don't think anyone would mind having breakfast." Sandy tells me. We sit down chatting. Of course she holds Faith. I see her other mate's who sit with Shuu and Caspian. Muir comes home finally.

"I love their cooking. Honestly they are better than I am now. They really took to cooking." I explain.

"Well that's how they should be. You should sit and relax more. They can handle it. Plus you have a good eye for males. After all you choose my cub." We giggle.

"I agree with that. Shuu is a great mate. He's always so kind and sometimes silly. I love that about him. You raised him right." I tell her.

"Well then you should meet my last cub he doesn't have a mate yet. He's well... he's too damn quiet for his own good... he's older than Shuu. Can I at least get you to meet him. I know you just took in a mate but he would be absolutely perfect for you. He's from my mate Greg. My cubs name is Gage." Sandy tells me. Oh gosh.

"I.. well I think I have enough mates. Although I have a very amazing sister who needs more mates. Her name is Holly. She's Winston's sister." I tell her.

"Yeah, I already mentioned Gage to her. Gage already met Holly. Holly said to send him your way. She said you'd like him. Even Rosa said that. I wonder if my cub is just not good enough." She sadly looks at me.

"I tell you what I'll meet him but I can't promise anything." I pat her hand.

"Oh your such a great daughter!" She hugs me and I hug her back.

"So where is he? I've never seen him around." I ask her.

"Well... he doesn't show himself. He's sort of.." She starts thinking about what to say.

"He's different.. his beast is very different bun, but he's a good brother and kind. Just different looking." Shuu explained.

"Yes.. you can say that. He took a bit after his father." Sandy adds.

"Now I'm curious. How different?" I ask confused.

"Well... I've never seen another with his beast form before, but its a lion with wings of a bird." Shuu says. That's interesting.

"I've lived long and never seen that kind of beast it would be quite the sight to see." Lucien says.

"Yeah I think I've heard of something similar. So what is your mates beast?" I ask.

"Oh Greg is a lion." Sandy tells me. Hmm well he obviously got his lion form from his father.

"What clan were you from Sandy?" I ask curiously.

"Oh im from the eagle clan." Sandy's tells me.

"Oh okay so he took after both of you. That's rare isn't it?" I ask.

"Oh I guess so do you think that's what happened?" She grabs my hand.

"Most likely." I nod patting her hand in reassurance.
After our talk we see my hubby's putting the food on the table. We take our spots digging in. It's so good. Like I said my hubby's are better at cooking then me now. Although they will never admit it. We even fed the fox brother's but the older brother politely refused to sit at the table with us. It might be pushing it if I insisted. After our visit Russ decided it's getting late and they need to head back. We start cleaning the table and kitchen.

"That was amazing. Thank you each of you did fantastic at dinner. It was really nice. I appreciate it." I tell them I see tails wagging.

"Of course we told you just let us do this so you can relax." Winston hugs me while purring. I love this.

"Oh Paige I found some new out while guarding the village. I'm now a scout but that's not all. When I was flying looking around. I seen a camp of ferals. They had captured females. I told Alec but he said they need to scout more since these ferals are careful of what they do. They are in that dark forest." Muir explains i look at my hubby's this news is new to all of us.

"Captured females? How many ferals were there?" I ask.

"Enough to keep the guards and Alec on alert." Muir tells us.
Then we hear a knock at our door.
Damian answers as we all pile over to see. It's Alec.

"Come in cub." I giggle then think of how old my hubby's are and how I'm a aunt to Rosa. God I feel old. I sit down on Karen's lap with a pout.

"Uh.. well we have a big problem." Alec tells us.

"Is this about the feral camp? Muir filled us in." I tell him.

"Yes actually. We need strong males to either save the females or force them away." Alec explained.

"So how many ferals are there?" I give a questioning look.

"Well... actually... my scouts counted around 40." Alec peaks up looking at my reaction.

"Are you serious? My hubby's would all have to go. Who else is getting asked to go?" I ask.

"Well.. I was thinking just a few certain males." Alec starts to explain.

"Absolutely not. I won't leave my mate vulnerable with 40 ferals around. Who will protect her and our cubs? Your asking a lot. If the whole village doesn't help then why should we?" Curtis hisses. He has a point this is stupid that only a few males are asked. There's plenty more males that can help as well. Don't have my hubby's do all the work just because their strong. Plus my babies.

"Out of the question fox!" Kaden growls out.

"Two of us will go but that's it. We will not leave our mate or cub to where anything can happen." Damian glares at Alec.

"We can always poison them..." I look behind me at Azrael.

"Well... wouldn't that hurt the females too?" I ask him.

"Not if it's a strong sleeping poison. Or we can mess with their beast powers." He smiles. I noticeably see Shuu shiver.
Kaden glares at Azrael.

"That might work to our benefit." Alec nods.

"For a price that is." Azrael smirks. Oh, shit scheming hubby for the win.

"A price?" Alec asks eyeing Azrael.

"Yes it's a fair trade. It's not like you use it much anyways." Azrael pats my head.

"And why is that a fair trade?" Alec asks angry.

"Well my offer stands for only until bed time you see and i am starting to get very tired. Your choice." Azrael fake yawns.

"Fine!" Alec huffs and storms away angrily. I look at Azrael. He just pats my head with a blush.

"I'll be back." Azrael grabs a wood box and heads outside following Alec.

"What was he talking about?" I ask Lucien.

"..I honestly don't know.. I lost my touch.." Lucien walks slowly in a daze to our room. I laugh so much. Drama..
