45. Sick

Paige's Pov:

~Two days later~

Stupid cold... I can't wait until this coughing is over. I feel like I have abs from coughing so much. My stomach hurts, and my body just feels sore all over. My hubby's have been doing an amazing job taking care of me, though. The house is getting done. It's much warmer. We took to using a stone slab and charcoal from the fire for me to draw out my ideas for the house. It works, but drawing with coal is messy. The rain hasn't stopped at all. Harvey has been an absolute delight. I hug Caspian tighter. Mm, he's so comfortable. So apparently, behind our place, there's a long, deep cave that goes to a river underground. Winston has been turning it into our personal well, and he made my bathroom near it. It's really cool. Lucien is amazing at digging. He added the cave to our home. Kaden and Curtis have been making the cave tunnel wood inside. Lucien carved the stairs, and he made the walls straight and smooth. Winston's been helping Lucien with moving the cut pieces of stone to make a wall around our place.
Shuu has been our hunter for food with Damian. Muir and Harvey, well, they go and get medicine, fruits, and crafting items for me it's so cool yesterday I got enough cotton to finally finish the mattress. I learned a lot about Caspian.
He likes to collect things and travel. I guess he has many caves in the sea.
He's also very quiet. He went half his life, not speaking cause there was nobody to talk to, but he's a good listener. I told him about where I'm from. All of that he knew a bit about humans but not all of it, so I got to fill in the gaps.

"Caspian, can I have more tea, please?"

"Sure, Paige." Caspian gets up and goes to our fireplace where the tea is still at the keep it warm. It's so good. Harvey made a tea to soothe my throat and my stomach. I hear a commotion from the other room, but with how I'm feeling right now, I don't want to even get up.
Caspian hands me a steamy clay cup of tea. I start drinking on it. It has a tangy fruit taste with a bit of sweet and spice. I think it's hibiscus with mango, ginger, and honey. It's pretty good, honestly. Better than the turmeric, ginger, and pepper tea.. that stuff was nasty, but it helped. I sip on the tea propped up by some fur pillows Shuu recently made for me. Curtis sewn the mattress with the help of Muir, and Kaden was doing wood tables until they started working on the cave. I personally love the cave. My hubby's worked hard on it. They also added a fireplace in there by the bath tub so it keeps it warm and they can boil the water.

"Caspian, what is your favorite color?" I ask him curiously.

"Hmm.. I guess it would be blue like your eyes. What is yours?" I chuckle.

"Hmm, I think I like them all equally. They are all pretty. Just like your hair. I think it's pretty how colorful it is." I play with his curly hair. It's like silk. My hair has become much nicer with the help of my hubby's. I've been doing what they do, and it works. Damian also potted flowers in old clay pots they made from the green clay. They sit around inside. I explained the drainage plate under the pot, so luckily, there's no water everywhere.

The bedroom door opens, and In walks Kaden. He looks so hot.
I noticed he's holding something. I raise my eyebrow, looking at him.

"Paige, I got something for you." He hands me a stone box it's intricately carved with beautiful flowers on it.

"It's beautiful, thank you, Kaden." I touch the stone carving on the top of the box.

"Open it." He laughs.
I open it and see a bunch of soaps, dried flowers, and a beautiful comb carved from a smooth stone. Wow. Lastly, a candle made of probably bees wax with a cotton wick.

"Kaden, you made this? I love it!" It's lovely. The soap smells so good, too.

"Well, we all did. I just finished the stone box for it. We followed your soap idea." Oh wow!

"Wow, thank you!" I yell a bit twords the door to them. I know they can hear me.

"I can't wait to try it! Tonight I'm going to take a really nice bath." I grin.

"And we will help you, Paige." Kaden tells me. I'm excited now. I'll get to relax my sore body.

"How are you feeling?" Kaden asks.

"Sore all over. My stomach hurts from coughing too much."

"I'll get Harvey. It's almost time for your medicine." I give him a sour look.

"It will help you. I'll get those fruits you like if you take your medicine."

"Deal.. might as well plant a few fruit trees on our property." I laugh. I see Shuu at the door.

"That's not a bad idea! I'll do it!" Shuu runs off, not knowing I was joking. Crap..

"Hey you...dont." I have a bit of a coughing fit. Caspian pats my back as Kaden goes to find Harvey. Muir and Harvey have been a team lately. If Harvey can't find something, Muir will search.
In walks Harvey, he comes over to me doing his normal check-up.

"Paige, you seem to be doing better, but I'll have to switch back to the orange root with golden root tea. It will make you better in no time." I groan plopping back into the bed.

"Hey Paige, you need to get better so we don't stress about you being sick. Here in this world, females die from fever." Caspian tells me.

"I know.. I'll do what I can." I sigh..
Harvey grabs his pouch and starts making the tea for me. Honestly, though, he's an amazing doctor. My body hasn't been this healthy ever. Everything we eat. Every medicine he makes has honestly helped my immune system, I don't get headaches as much. Just all around, he's amazing. I hate when people don't take herbal doctors as real doctors. They had herbal medicine before science. Not knocking science either, but because of the herbal remedies from history, it got us to where we are now, and some herbal medicine helps better than the new medicine in my world. That's why I think he's so great too. He does what he can without using technology or science. He has to know by just symptoms. How amazing.

I drink the bitter tasting tea.. I drink it all down as fast as humanly possible. I scrunch my nose and stick my tongue out. Just at this point, Kaden walked in, peeling a fruit. He shoves a slice in my mouth. Oh, thank you so much!
I grin at him.

"Good Paige. Now, after you eat that fruit, I'll have the short bird soup ready. Drink some, then get as much rest as you can." Harvey rubs my head.

"Okay, Harvey. Thank you, hunny. I love you. I'll get better soon." Harvey just smiles at me, getting up he goes to cook.

"Thank you, Kaden, my love. You saved my life." He laughs.

"It's not that bad." I raise my brow at him. He picks the cup up with the tea and smells in. He moves away, scrunching his nose.

"Told you.." I laugh, putting the blanket over me as I roll over, hugging Caspian.
