75. The Talk

Paige's Pov:

We get home. Curtis puts me down on the couch.
I sigh seeing my hubby's.

"Um.. hey, I have to talk to all of you about what just happened." I tell them.
We all gather at the dinner table. As I tell them what happened with Azrael.

"It's not a bad idea he's a poison doctor.. remember how Paige was abducted? I was barely awake enough to tell Holly and Jed." Curtis brings up.
They start nodding.

"Paige, all I need to know is do you like Azrael? Do you want him to be part of our family?" Harvey asks me.

"I do if.." I start to answer.

"No, Bunny, what do you want. We want what makes you happy. We know you care about how we feel. Honestly, adding him to our family is fine because he can add a lot to our family, but do you really want him?" Damian asks me.
I breathe in and sigh.

"Yes.." I tell him.

"Okay, that's all we needed to know, but he still has to be trusted by us." Caspian says.

"Yes, that I agree with. If none of you trust him, then he can't join the family." I add.

"Okay, Paige, so then we will watch and test him." Winston tells me.

"Yeah, and if he fails, we will tell you what happened." Lucien says.

"I have no problem with him, but that's from what I've seen personally. He could have taken advantage of Paige when me and Harvey were out." Muir tells us all.

"True, I think he will be good for Paige's protection. We have no real way to protect against poisons or Venom's." Shuu adds.

"Truthfully, it will take a bit to trust him for me." Kaden says.

"I understand, Kaden. That's fine." I hug him. Faith starts crying, so I get up, but before I can go over to her, Muir jumps up, taking her from her abalone shell bed. He slowly coos to her. Cuddling our beautiful cub. He gently hands Faith to me to feed her.

"Thank you, Muir." I kiss him. He blushes. I love that I still have that effect on them. I giggle. I start to feed her, but the table is uncomfortable to sit at feeding a baby. Lucien picks us up, taking us to the couch.
I'm leaning back on him. His arms rub my stomach lightly.
So now I continue to feed Faith.
We hear a knock at the door. Lucien grabs a lightweight silky skin and drapes it on me. Jealous husband.. I laugh. Kaden opens the door, giving a low growl.
He moves to let Azrael in. Azrael waits for me to let him enter.

"Come in.. I'm just feeding my cub. You can put your things down for now and sit with us." I tell him. He walks in, nodding to my hubby's. He sets his things down, looking at the living room curiously. Azrael walks over and starts to sit on the floor. I feel Faith is done, so I pull my top back up, so i just hold her wrapped in a blanket.

"Um, on the seat, see?" I tell him. He nods with a blush.

"Uh.. you had your cub? I remember seeing you at the Peacock village still pregnant." He tells me. I nod, oh yeah.

"Yep, well, she hatched." He looks shocked.

"You have a female cub?" Azrael asks me. I nod, pulling the silky skin enough so he can see my cub.
He looks at her with a smile.

"She's beautiful." Azrael says. My hubby's all nod in agreement.

"Thank you." He looks at me blushing again. Okay, I need to know now.

"So how are you so well known as a poison doctor?" I ask Azrael.

"Well.. when I was hatched, I was very loved, so were my brothers, but when my color didn't come, I was ousted by my mother and the village. So, I roamed around a lot. From village to village, many though I was a curse because I'm a white peacock. When I was a season old, I ran into a snake who bit me. I almost died, but luck was with me.
I ended up learning about poisons and venoms all around the continent. I became immune to everything there was. Most of all, I started making my own poisons and venoms. Deadly kinds.. I became incredible with them. I started working for ferals, unfortunately. Not all were bad, but a lot were. At the time, I didn't care. So, I started selling antidotes and deadly poisons. I got so good at my skill that I can kill anything with a fish bone that has my concoction on it. Even saint Zachary is afraid of me or what I can do. Well.. I ended up one day seeing what ferals do to females.. I tried to free a lot of them, and I did, but after that, I just disappeared. I went back to the peacock village only to be ousted again. I figured I'd hide my head and only work with a few still. My father is the village leader. He won't admit to it because of this I was allowed to stay but as long as I didn't tell anyone who my father is. So I stayed there doing odd jobs. I'm still keeping up with my crafts on poisons and venoms, but I still never thought I'd ever be chosen by a female. In fact, if you felt pressured by my father, you don't have to mate me if you don't want to. I can understand that I look.. different. Plus, I saved you because you needed it not to mate you, but i would also love to have you... I feel bad cause my father only wants to get rid of me to make room for Alva or his other cubs." He explains. God, I feel so bad he was just abandoned like that? Because he's an albino?.. I can relate that has to hurt.
I get up, walking to him, and I hug him with my one arm, still holding my precious cub. I look into his beautiful red eyes.

"You're wanted. I do want you to join my family but you need to prove it to my hubby's I mean mates." I touch his cheek. He looks at me with a beautiful smile. He smells good too. He's handso , and versoft-spokenen. I can tell he has confidence because of his craft, but he's very lonely.

"I'm surprised you want a male like me Paige. I seen you staring at me from the Peacock village but I thought it was because of my lack of color." Azrael tells me.

"Well, I love how beautiful your feathers are. They look like snow that just fell to the ground, sparkling and white. Like a snow flake." I tell him shyly.

"I'll save you every feather then." I smile. Oh, beautiful! His feathers would be gorgeous as a hair piece.

"I'd love that. They're so beautiful. I'd make a hairpiece with one. But will it look cute on my white hair?" I chuckle.

"Very beautiful." He shields his face again with his arm. So I pull his arm down, looking at him. His face is flush. He has 3 white stripes, two like white eye liner and one below his eye. I touch the one below his eye. They are very pretty on him. Kaden, like the jealous hubby he is picks me up. Curtis takes Faith to lay her down for her nap. I chuckle.

"Yeah, well, if you hear moaning in this room, stay away." Kaden growls out.
I yelp. Giving Muir the help me look, but he shrugs. Traitor!

I'm happy to say finally I'm back in my groove on writing. Which makes me feel a lot better. I enjoy it. I and now able to write for both my books.
