42. Village

Paiges Pov:

Burr I feel cold. Luckily, Harvey makes me some warm tea as we get ready to go.

"Thank you, Harvey."

"Of course. Oh, while you were gone, Holly came by. Kaden went to get some new vines with Jed and Parker." I perk up.

"Oh! Okay. Hey Winston, can you take me to see Holly?" He stops what he was doing his tail starts to move back and forth. He picks me up in a bridal carry. I put my arms around him and lean my cheek to his chest.

"Okay, but then we go on foot to the village." I nod. Winston places a warm, dry fur over me so I won't get wet. When we get to Holly's cave right by ours, I see a new mark on her.

"Oh my god! Holly!" I point to her collarbone giggling happily for them both. Parkers not so bad. I'm glad he got a good woman who loves him. He really has grown up, and it's all thanks to Elodie.

"Yep, me and Parker mated. I've accepted him and Elodie as my own. Although Alva is driving me up a wall. Always frantic about helping Elodie with everything. We can't get a word in with that bird." Winston and I laugh.

"Yeah, he doesn't listen, but I imagine when he's older, he will." She nods.

"Paige! You and Muir? Already? You just gave birth. If I hear he did something, I'll wallop him for you!" I chuckle, shaking my head.

"It was both of us. Plus Curtis got me an emrald so I'm fine. Just a bit sore.." I say with heated cheeks.

"I seen your Dragon Egg cub. I just have to say I'm absolutely happy for you. I can't wait until she hatches, then I can hold her! I still haven't had my estrous cycle. I'm kind of worried.. I hope I have it soon before the cold season. Do you think I can get pregnant?" She worriedly rubs her stomach.

"Of course you can, Holly! Also, I'll tell Harvey to do a check-up for you when we get to the village. He might know some things you can take to help. It will happen. So, who would you give cubs to first?" I ask her.

"It's Markus he's my first mate he will have the first right to cubs. I can't wait. Plus, wolf cubs! They are so cute!"
She gets excited. I look over seeing Markus puff his chest out with a wagging tail. I giggle.

"And who's your next Paige?" Holly asks me. Hmm.. that's a good question.

"I think Harvey. He's my first as well, but I can't really control when I get pregnant." I explain.

"Oh yeah. Well, I can't wait to see my brothers cubs too. Actually, any of your cubs or Rosa's. I wish my cub could be here. She would have liked both of you." She sadly looks down. I climb out of Winstons arms and hug her.

"What happened if you don't mind me asking."

"Well.. after my mate died protecting us. She was taken by ferals. That's all I know. Jed said he would go look for her after we get settled. He's too worried to look right now as we are traveling." She explains.

"Holly... why didn't you say something. I'm sure my mates and Winston would definitely help you look for her. When we get to the village, I'll talk to them, but does Jed hibernate?" I ask.

"Oh no, he doesn't hibernate he's a constrictor they usually are in water a lot." Oh, I learn something new every day.

"Curtis has to hibernate, but Kaden, Muir, and Winston, I'm sure, won't mind helping out." I hug her more. This whole time, I thought she died.

"Of course we will find her, Holly." Winston tells her. I have the best Hubby's in the world.

"I'll help too, Holly." I see Parker hug Holly from behind, pulling her away from me. Aww.

"Thanks. I'm so happy I have you all here with me. I've never had friends before or the care of a family like what we three have." Holly explains.

"Of course we are family, Holly! Look, your Winston sister, Rosa is Winston's niece. Also, Rosa's mate Bart is my mate Shuu's brother. So yep! Definitely family and most definitely friends!" I chuckle.
We chat some more, and my hubby's are ready to go. Rosa and Holly's family is also ready. I chose to ride on Lucien's back. Caspian decided to follow us why swimming the river. I need to find out how to get that man to open up to me. Hmm..

I pet Luciens silky white fur. I snuggle close into him. Winston puts a cloak on me it's longer and more practical than the other one.
We start to head west more following the river. Every now and then, Muir and Harvey pick some fruit or herbs. We make pretty good time. We end up reaching the Fox, Bear village just around early evening. Winston goes to look for a home with Parker and Bart. My legs aren't as sore from this trip. Lucien is pretty smooth when running. I touch his beautiful fluffy tails. Other Foxes stop and look at us. Some females look at me with hatred and jealousy. Some look at me in respect.
I get down from Lucien's back, feeling a bit shy. Lucien shifts back. He lifts me in his arms. I peek at Lucien studying his reaction he just looks annoyed at all the males.
We see a I'm guessing tribe leaders. A tall young man who's built with round ears on top of his head. His hair is black. Then we see a young red-haired guy with fox ears.

"Welcome what bring you to our village?" The fox asks us.

"I am Lucien of the winter fox clan. We wish to temporarily move here to hatch our cub." The fox leaders' eyes become big he tries to get a look at me, but my hubby's protest in growls and hissing.

"Welcome females to the village then." They both tell us being weary of Curtis and Jed, but still they are bring extremely nice.

"Fred show then the houses." The bear leader tells him.

"It won't be necessary our mates are already looking for us we plan to buy a house."I explain just peaking out a little. The Fox leaders' face turns a crimson hue.

"Um, okay, if you need anything female, just ask me. My name is Alec." I nod to him. Lucien sees Winston walking up, and we just leave to see our options.

"We found a few places, one underground home that you wanted, but it's expensive.. foxes are known for their high prices. Winston slaps Lucien's shoulder as I giggle.

"How much and how big is it?" I ask.

"It's bigger than our old place, but it's twenty crystals." Ohh... I nod. Dang..

"I can buy it, Paige. we have plenty of crystals." Lucien tells me. Kaden nods as well, showing me a pouch of them. Well, holy crap. Okay, this can work.

"Okay, but twenty is a bit much." I explain.

"It's fine. That's what you want, right? We will get it." Lucien hands a pouch to Winston, and he runs off.
