17. Trial

Paiges Pov:

We built on the place it'd been two weeks. We already figured the kiln out. It took a few tries and a few pots broken, but we got it. We just figured out how to smoke the meat, too. I'm also drying tones of fruit, and I've been storing potatoes and carrots in boxes full of sand to keep it fresh in my cellar. I have spices and herbs drying as well on flat baskets outside.
I've seen Rosa and Holly twice. We had them over for dinner. It was really fun.
I wake up early in the morning, I stretch. I am the only one in the room. I go downstairs. It's just me and Damian.

"Are you ready?" He asks.

"Ready for what." I look at him confused.
He laughs.

"I told you last night, but I guess you didn't hear me from all the moaning." He kisses my head. He pulls me to him and grabs my butt. I chuckle.

"What is it?" My interest now peeked.

"The trial for Parker." He growls his name.
Oh shit that's right he told me a two weeks ago that the ape king stopped by and talked to him. This is the day.

"The others are waiting outside. Let's get you clean and dressed." I nod.
I decided to wear a blue dress again with my short white cloak. I braid my hair into a half bun and put my flower pin in. Then we go outside.
I see Harvey, Curtis, and Winston waiting for me. Damian picks me up, and we go to the Ape Kings castle.
I see Shuu walking to the castle, too.

"Shuu!!" I wave at him. He blushes slightly and walks over.

"Hello Paige. Sorry I haven't come by as much. I did leave fruit at your door." He tells me.
Aww, he's so cute, and I want to touch his ears so badly.

"Shuu.. thank you for the fruits they are so delicious. I.. I also um can I touch your ears?" I ask him. Hopefully, he says yes. That's when he becomes red as a tomato. Damian pulls me closer to him.

"That's a right of his female. You're suggesting you will be his female Paige." He whispers.

"Oh, but I do want to be his female." I blurt. Noticing everyone heard me. I kind of feel embarrassed. I look down and hide.

"You want to be my mate? Is that true?" Shuu asked, touching my chin, moving me to look at him.

"If you want that too." I squeak out.
His tail wags, and he lifts me out of Damian's arms, carrying me close to him. I really love Shuu from the story. My poor baby always ignored and risked his life still. She only cried or thought of him the once. I hated Bai for that. I hug him close.

"Thank you, Paige. I swear to be the best mate ever." He whispers to me.

"I know you will, Shuu." I give his collarbone a small kiss. We start walking up to the castle. It's not much of a castle. It looks more like a stone keep. It's two stories high it has no windows but furs covering the window openings. There is a door, too. The front of the castle looks Square shaped behind, which is a winder place, probably about twelve bedrooms.
It has some stone pathways all around the castle. It's set up on a hill cause the side of the castles first floor is a balcony on one side. So I'm guessing down below is the dungeon.

We go inside. It has furs on the floor and stacks of furs to sit down. And different colored furs over the windows. This room has a fire area. There are stones to use like a short table. Other than this, there's nothing to really look at. Also, we see Bai and Parker standing by the fire.
Once we get in, we sit down. Parker just gives us a look like someone pissed in his cheerios. I don't even bother.

"What are you looking at disgusting feral?" Parker grits out. I look up confused. I see Curtis smirking.

"I hope you're happy. With yourself! How can you get us exiled. I don't have any mates. You're setting us up to be killed." Bai whines.
