53. Cries in the Dark

Kadens Pov:

I hold the green haired merman up where his toes barely touch the ground.
I punch him.

"You're as bad as ferals trying to force yourself on our mate!" He tried to fight back. His fist goes to hit me, but I grab his hand, breaking his wrist.
I rip his throat out. Damian and Lucien attacks everyone and anyone. I leave the cave attacking as well. Ripping and shredding through the mer clan. Pulling mermen apart with my wings. Clawing them with my spikes at the tips of my wings impaling them. The water becomes murky from blood.

We see the King of the Mer Clan.

"What is this?!" He yells.

"You took our female!" I yell.

"You think you own a female?" He grunts out angrily.

"No, we give her the right to choose us. You merman are like ferals stealing females and keeping them so they can't escape!" Lucien yells.

"Who are you males to lecture me?"

"I am the King of the nine tailed fox, and they the Dragon Demons Cubs! You stole a female from the king of the winter fox. I didn't know your mer clan had such a death wish!" Lucien yells. The kings eyes get wide. I pull Damian back. He looks at me, and I shake my head. I point up. He looks confused. So I grab him swimming back up.

We see a bright light below and just murky darkness.. I've seen this before.. the same thing ended the dragon war.
The fox king.. his wrath is beyond.

We swim up, reaching the top of the water. I breathe in deep. So does Damian.

"What was that, Kaden?" Damian asks me.

"Well, some think it's a light of revenge.. or the beast God power himself. I don't know, but anything in its path will die. They can only do it when they are extremely angry. That was the light that ended the war." I explain.

"That?" Damian asks, and I nod.

We swim to shore. Seeing Lucien come up in his fox form, he Flys up just skimming the water. Still angry. We all get to shore bloody.. even the sea was to bloody to wash it off. Lucien sits down. Damian and I stop to look back at him.

"Lucien?"

"I failed. I broke my promise.."

"I'm sure Paige will understand."

"No!" We end up dragging the emotional fox back home. We clean before we get back. When we get in, we see Paige still holding Caspian asleep by the fire.

"How is she?" I ask him, touching her cheek.

"She's not handling what happened. Harvey made her soup and medicine. She's sick again. She wouldn't let me go. What's with Lucien?"

"Eh.. he broke a promise with Paige. Lucien needs her, too.." Damian tells him I nod.
Caspian grabs the mopey fox and gets Paige untangled from him, setting her in Lucien's arms. He cries, holding her. She wakes up and hugs him tightly.

"Lucien?" She asks him with cracked lips.

"Paige?.. I'm so sorry.. I broke the promise.."

"You didn't." She whispers.

"I did.."

"You're alive. You promised you won't die." His face holds a bit of shock. Then, he lightly smiles at her.

"Okay, my little sweet. Sleep were home we won't let you go, okay?" She nods, nuzzling onto his shoulder.
She falls asleep.
Muir, Shuu Winston, and Curtis are all around her even Caspian. Harvey is making more medicine. Damian and I go sit with her. Muirs holding our egg. I rest my head by my her. We pretty much all do. Harvey brings another few furs. So we decide to sleep right here in a pile.

Curtis Pov:

Late that night, I decided to swim to the mer clan.. looking for pearls, anything that's salvageable. They deserve it.

Getting back, I bring in sacks of things. Caspian just looks at me and nods.
I dry off and lay back down.

Paige's Pov:

I yawn. Waking up. I smell my hubby's familiar scent. He smells good. I have to pee, but I'm too scared to go.. Lucien touches my hair, rubbing my scalp.

"Paige? What do you need?" He whispers.

"I have to go to the sandbox, but I'm too scared." I shiver.

"I'll take you. So will Winston. Okay?" I nod, not moving.
He rubs my hair down my back.
Winston gets up, touching my face.
We go outside to our spot. I get down shakily walking to my area. I do my thing, washing my hands and running back to Winston. I climb into his arms before he can properly pick me up.
He purrs, calming me down and hugging me tightly. I feel much more protected with my husband's. We head back home and spot Rosa outside waddling from the market.

"Hey Paige! Holy shit girl I was so scared when I heard you were taken! I bought you something. It's really amazing! It's a cool necklace here, babe. You poor thing. Oh, by the way, my mate came home today saying a bunch of villagers went to go hunt and saw tons of dead mer clan body parts wash up. Kekeke, I bet they were just brutalized. Damn girl, you look so tired. You know what helps me is a good old-fashioned dickin like for example, the simba position. "Who hurt you?" I ask giggling.

"Okay Rosa, we need to feed Paige. we will see you later." Winston cuts her off. I just laugh.

"Okay, no problem! Oh yeah, Paige! By the way I heard your fuck fest! Ten out of ten!" I go red as Rosa gives me two thumbs up.
I shyly wave. Oh my god...
I glare at Winston.

"Oh... she probably wasn't effected by the estrous because she's pregnant.." Winston says.

"Yeah..." I give a flat look. A lot of the males look over at me I just shyly hide. Rosa you old pervert.. love you bunches but holy shit now the whole village knows.
We get home. Winston puts me in Shuus arms. I hug him tightly.
