I just saw Moana 2 in theaters and it was alright like 6.5/10 ig. The songs kinda brought it down for me. They could have been better. Lin manual Miranda was missed.
Anyways before going in, I'd seen people say there was weird sexual tension between Moana and Muai and I was like pleassseeee no.
And good news. There wasn't. People just interpreted it that way. Their dynamic was a little more akward and there was one weird moment where she gave his animated chest tattoo a high five so her hand was like on his chest but it was like supposed to be awkward not romantic and it was awkward so idk.
But yeah I think people only assumed it was sexual or romantic because god forbid a guy cares about a girl it must be romance because boys and girls can't be friends. It's impossible.
No they were giving friend energy it was just awkard because it felt slightly different than the first but not because it was romantic. At least not in my opinion.
So yeah. Relieved there was no romantic tension but little disappointed people still think any time a bit cares about a girl or visa versa it's romantic.
