"Most" important

Okay for a bit of context for my last post, I saw this clip on TikTok of boy meets world and it was Valentine's day and Corey's mom was about to have a baby so Corey and Topanga were at the hospital in the waiting room and Corey is all pressed because he just wants to spend time with topanga (idk if they're just dating engaged or married at this point but it's one of those) and like be thankful you're together at the hospital dude. You're about to be a big brother and this is why you're pressed?

Like imagine being the baby brother and growing up and asking your older brother "where were you when I was born?" "Oh I was in the hospital bitching and complaining that we were there instead of being alone with my significant other because that's all I care about and nothing else is more important"

Like topanga was like "dude you're about to have a baby sibling there's things more important than us right now"

Like topanga gets it. In certain situations different things and people take priority

And so I'll never get why Corey said that bc to me, if my hypothetical romantic partner said that I'd be like we are breaking up because I do not want to be valued ABOVE someone's mom/dad/siblings/best friends (given that they have a good relationship with their family) like I would like to be valued the same but low-key if I was valued a little less I'd be like whatever I think it's sweet you love your friends and family so much

So yeah. I just don't get how people can so easily have one person that's "most" like truly think about that, it's insane. "I love you you're my sibling but I don't love you as much as my partner" like my love for my loved ones has no end.
