Uggg I'm pissed off.
This is why I have troubles being aroace because "just ignoring" or not interacting with romance is impossible to avoid bc it's fucking everywhere and it's one thing for it to just be in shows and everything is chill but I lose my cool when a character is seen as being sad and miserable if they don't want sex/romance.
"She doesn't have any love" FUCK. YOU. Like those are her sisters who said that and she had a son, the fuck you mean she has no love?
"She's been single for 6 months"
SHE IS COMING OUT OF A 2 YEAR MARRIAGE, 4 YEAR TOTAL RELATIONSHIP WHERE THEY FOUGHT AGAINST ALL ODDS OF MAGIC/RULES/NATURE (it's a magic show so like rules of magic and shit made it hard for them) like it's gonna take time the break up was complicated bc of magic it's not like they don't love each other still it's just complicated.
Ugggggggggg like so she decided to stop dating at all to focus on her baby and everyone is like "yOu cAn'T gIvE uP oN lOvE" shut the fuck up!!
And her sisters decided to conjure her a fake man for the day. She didn't even want that and what does that even help if it's for one day
It just pisses me off that they make romanticless people seem loveless. That's what I hate more than anything.
And it's like what am I even supposed to do about it bc if I complain about a book or show doing that it's like "well just don't watch/read it" but EVERY thing does this shit. And if not the show/book the readers/watchers will and I know that how other people view things shouldn't effect me but if enough people interpret it that way it just becomes "truth" I know the beauty of art is that it can be interpreted however but why is it always (or almost always) romantic.
And I guess I could be projecting bc I'm afraid my book will get romanticized and that's just something I'm gonna have to get over and know that it doesn't matter bc it'll still be the perfect platonic love story for the right people.
Idk I'm just really pissed off. It was just one episode it's fine. I'm just getting so sick of all romance at this point.
