Hello me again bc I thought of a cool analogy to describe where my characters are on the aro spectrum (at least I think it's cool) I call it the door analogy.

Rue is romance repulsed. But to really give you and idea of what that is, picture a house. Rue is in the house, romance is outside. The door to her house is closed. Not just closed, but locked. All her windows are bordered up and there's even traps around her house to ward off romamce and she's hiding in her basement.

Reggie's door isn't locked. Sometimes it might be, but the majority of the time it's just closed. Sometimes his door is open just a little bit. But again, the majority of the time it's closed. But not locked. If someone knocks, he might hide. Or he might open the door, but not let them in. Maybe he'll let them in if they take off their shoes and hat (meaning he's willing to be friends with them but not anything romantic). Reggie occasionally peeks out his window to roamce and watches. His windows are open sometimes if the air is nice.  This means Reggie is more indifferent to romance. He can be curious, but isn't really sure if it's for him but likes to see others be in love sometimes.

I'm closer to rue on the spectrum. In fact I might just be Rue.

But someone who is romance positive might have an open door to romance or allow some people to have a key. Some may step outside.

Idk if this makes any sense to anyone else lol I just thought of it today. But that's all, thanks for listening, take care 💚💜
