I yearn to love
To spontaneously text my friends,
words of my admiration and appreciation
My gratitude for having them in my life
I yearn to outpour my love, instead of keeping it contained
Boxed away, on the shelf it must stay
Because spontaneously sharing words of love,
Spontaneously displaying affection for my friends,
Presents itself as a scary end.
My love and appreciation is taken as a goodbye
But it's simply just love.

I wrote this about how it's not as common to spontaneously text your friends "I love you". Or tell them how much you appreciate them. Bc it can be taken as like a goodbye and then they get scared you're going to hurt yourself.
I can't just text my friend on a random evening and say "I am so glad we're friends, I will always love you. Thank you for being my best friend you mean the world to me" it would either be too much and scare them off or they'll be like "omg are you okay?" Like no actually I'm not okay. I'm so platonically in love with you but don't know how to show it.
