"I love this feeling," he said calmly.
"Me too," you closed your eyes.
You and Aiden lay together on the couch. You held his hand and relaxed. Being with Aiden was pure bliss. He had a calming, smooth affect on you, but still had a passionate control. Your bodies fit together so perfectly that he was more comfortable than your own bed.
"Should we do anything today?" Aiden asked.
"I just want to stay here with you," you yawned.
"We should go to school," Aiden said.
"I don't want to," you said. "My grades are high. And you're just there because Deucalion wants you to be."
"Won't your parents be mad?"
"No, I'm not missing anything important," you told him.
You and Aiden remained in a comfortable silence. He stroked your arm and you began to doze off. That was your favorite thing about Aiden. You had never been with a guy that made you feel so comfortable and warm.
"I love you," Aiden said.
You tensed up. He ruined it. He just ruined everything. He loves you. He just said that he loves you. Your comfortable silence had turned awkward. Your harmonious bodies felt weird against each other. Maybe he thought you were asleep. Maybe you could pretend you hadn't heard.
"Sorry," he said finally.
You didn't know if you should respond. You could play it off like you had been asleep, but that wouldn't be fair to him.
"It's okay," you said. "But remember our agreement."
"I remember," he said.
You and Aiden had made a deal before you started seeing each other. You both knew that there was no way it was going to last. Your packs were dueling, which put a strain on your relationship. You made him promise that he wouldn't get too attached to you. You didn't want him to get hurt when he lost you.
"I love you too, but I'm not gonna say it again," you said.
"Why not?" He asked.
"Because of the deal."
"I hate the deal."
"I like the deal."
"The deal is stupid."
"I hate you," you said. "You're so difficult."
"I thought you loved me," he said.
"And I'm not saying it again."
"Please do," he begged.
"Why?" You asked.
"Because I love you, and it kills me that you can't tell me that you love me back."
"Aiden," you said.
"[Y/N]," he said.
"I love you."
"I don't believe you."
"You don't believe me?"
"I don't believe you."
"Fine," you said. "I'll prove it." You tore yourself out of his embrace and marched towards the phone.
"What are you doing?" He asked. You ignored him and proceeded to dial Scott's number.
"Hey, why weren't you in first hour?" Scott answered the phone.
"I'm with Aiden."
"Aiden?" Scott asked. "What did he do to you?"
"Nothing," you turned to make eye contact with Aiden. "I'm in love with him."
You hung up the phone and put yourself back into Aiden's embrace.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too."
