The wind blew your hair fiercely around your face as you looked over the town. You could see everything from the roof of the school, even your own house.

"[Y/N]," Scott came stealthily up behind you, resting his hand gently on your shoulder. "Are you okay? You ran out of there pretty fast."

"I'm fine," you grumbled.

It was Senior Scribe Night. Everyone was inside- laughing, having fun. Except for you. It was selfish; you knew it was, but you couldn't help yourself.

They were going to plant a tree in Allison's memory, and they wanted you to take care of everything. They wanted you to make a speech.

"What's wrong?" Scott asked. "It's an amazing thing they've asked you to do. You should be honored."

"I can't do it," you said. "I'm not her. I'm not Allison."

"They're not asking you to be her. They just want you to talk about her."

"What could I say? That she was a great person? Everyone already knows that, and they just think that she was killed in a car jacking. I can't tell them how strong she was. I can't tell them how loving and caring she was. And how I took her place."

"Took her place?"

"I took everything," you said, a tear falling from your eye. "I took her spot in the pack. I took her weapons. I took you."

"You didn't take me," Scott said. "I asked you out, not the other way around."

"She was my best friend. Do you really think she would approve of all this?"

"[Y/N], Allison didn't want me to wallow in pity forever. She wanted me to move on, and she wanted you to be happy. That's all this is. Us being happy, alright? I loved her, we both did. And we love each other. Nothing else matters."

"Okay," you nodded, wiping away a tear.

Scott took your hand in his. "Let's go back down."

You walked with Scott down the stairs into the school, already planning your speech.
