Your life had been the absolute best since Derek bit you. Derek was literally the best trainer in the world. He was nice but he knew when to yell. He was dedicated but he knew when to take his shirt off. He was sort of perfect, and life was great with just the two of you.
You walked into the training room one evening, just like you did everyday, and you were surprised to see an unfamiliar tall boy standing around.
"Can I help you?" You asked.
"I'm waiting for Derek," he said without looking at you, increasing your suspicion.
"Oh!" Derek came in behind you. "You two have met."
"Derek," the boy smiled, walking over and giving him a secret handshake. Why hadn't Derek taught you that handshake?
"Derek, who is this?" You asked.
"This is Isaac. He's my new beta."
"Your new beta? You needed another one?"
"Yeah. I still need more actually."
"More?"
"Isaac, will you excuse us for a second?" Derek asked.
"No problem," Isaac said, putting his hands in his jacket pocket and leaving the room.
"Are you jealous of Isaac?" Derek asked when he was out of earshot.
"Should I be?"
"I don't know. Why would you be?"
His phone buzzed in his pocket.
"Is that Isaac texting you?"
"I don't know."
His phone buzzed again, and you grabbed it out of his hand.
"[Y/N], wait!"
"Holy shit!" You yelled, looking at his lock screen. "Why is there a picture of you holding Isaac like a baby?"
"Okay, don't be jealous."
"I'm a little jealous! It looks like he's your new best friend."
"Yeah, he is."
"Oh, really? Because I've been here for months, Derek! You bit him, what, a few days ago? I've been here for you this entire time. I should be your best friend."
"Huh," he said.
"What?"
"I always thought we were more than friends."
You paused. "Oh, well I like that idea better actually."
"So you're not jealous of Isaac?"
"No, I'm not."
"Alright, well let me formally introduce my girlfriend to my best friend," he said, taking your hand and going to find Isaac.
