You and Liam lay asleep together on the couch, with nothing but silence in the air. It was pure perfection. Unfortunately, nothing good could ever last.

Liam bolted up in a sweaty rage, waking you up.

"Are you okay?" You put your hand on his back.

"We fell asleep," he buried his head in his hands. "It's the full moon."

"It's hardly even dark out," you told him. "We have time."

You started to stand up, but Liam grabbed you by the wrist, and dug his sharp claws into your skin.

"No," he looked up at you with glowing yellow eyes. "We don't."

"I'll go get the chains," you said as blood escaped your wrist.

"There's no time," he let go of your wrist and dug his claws into his own hands. "Run!"

You didn't think twice about Liam's advice, and sprinted out of the house. You ran down the street and began thinking of where to go. Your own house was too far. You had been to Scott's house before, but didn't know how to get there from Liam's house. The sky turned dark, forcing you to make your decision. The school.

Running to the school, you pondered the different ways Liam could rip you apart. He could start with your head, and eat the rest of you.

After a long run, you finally reached the school. You tugged the doors, but they didn't open. You ran around from door to door, trying to find one that would open, but you were unsuccessful.

Since when are the doors locked? You thought. It seemed like whenever someone else tried to break into the school, the doors were wide open.

Turning around, you saw something out of the corner of your eye. Liam, hunched over and hairy, was sniffing around in the school parking lot.

He followed your scent.

"Shit," you tried to turn around too fast, knocking into a trash can. Liam's head bolted upright, and he began to run towards you.

You tried to outrun him, but the dog-boy tackled you to the ground. He lay on top of you, his mouth right over yours.

"Liam," you said. "Fight it."

Liam didn't seem to understand, but you knew the words were leaking into his brain, so you kept talking.

"You don't have an anchor," you panted. "Use me. Make me your anchor. Fight it, Liam. Fight it!"

Liam's head shook rapidly, and you watched as he transformed back into a boy. Thankfully, a clothed boy this time.

"Oh God," he said, jumping to his feet. "[Y/N], I'm so sorry."

He took your arm and helped you up. "It's okay," you told him. "It wasn't you."

"I could have hurt you!"

"But you didn't," you grabbed him by the shoulders and turned him around. "Look."

Liam stared into the sky in awe. The full moon was surrounded by twinkling stars, and Liam was a human underneath it.
