You lay in bed with Isaac by your side, your feet occasionally brushing against each other.

"Can I ask you a question?" He asked softly.

"Sure."

"Gosling or Reynolds?"

"What?"

"It's a simple question. Just answer. Gosling or Reynolds?"

"Gosling," you answered. "Chris Pine or Christopher Walken?"

"I don't even know who Christopher Walken is. I'm gonna go with Pine. So... Scandal or How to get away with Murder?"

"How to get away with Murder. It has Viola Davis."

"Have you ever even seen it?"

"Shut up," you said. "Country or pop?"

"The sound of silence. Music is a reminder of the failures of humankind."

"Odd."

"Fries or lettuce?" He asked.

"Um, fries. Oranges or apples?"

"Oranges," he said definitively. "Married or unmarried?"

"We're in high school," you said, crushing his dreams. He had been talking about marriage for the longest time, and it was just so far in the back of your mind. He couldn't seem to understand that you were too young.

"I know. I just want assurance."

"Assurance about what?" You asked.

"I just want to know that you're the person I'm going to be with for the rest of my life. I don't want to get married. I just want to know that you'll still want to be with me in ten years when we have stable jobs and we live in France and we're ready to have kids. I mean, that's how I imagine my future. I don't know what you want."

"That's exactly what I want, Isaac, but the key phrase is ten years."

"I'm willing to wait that long. I just need to know you're still going to be there."

"Of course I'll be there."

You and Isaac reverted back to silence, both mentally plotting out the next ten years of your lives.
