"YOU mean you weren't able to meet Mr. Yu sa Cebu?"

"I called him to resched the meeting."

"And?"

"He's coming here in Manila and I can ask for an appointment."

Tahimik lamang ako na nagbabalat ng mga prutas habang si Dan naman ay nakaupo sa tabi ko habang nakaakbay sa akin and his fingers playing with the exposed skin of my shoulder.

"I cannot believe you! Nasa Cebu ka na pero iniwan mo ang trabaho because of what?"

Nagkibit balikat lang si Dan. "I have more important matter."

"More important?!" He scoffed. "Paano ka magiging successful if you don't know how to prioritize?"

"I know how, and I know what is worth prioritizing." Dan gently squeezed my shoulder.

Ramdam ko ang pagsunod niya ng tingin sa akin which I tried my best to ignore. I'm trying to be civil sa kanya dahil na rin kay Dan, he may not like me for his grandson but he's still a family.

"What about Michelle, nakausap mo na ba siya?"

"Yeah."

"What about you Katherine?"

"Po?" Nagulat ako sa biglang pagkausap niya sa akin. All these time na sumasama ako kay Dan sa pagdalaw sa Lolo niya we never really talk.

"How's your family business going?"

"It's doing good. I close a deal recently and Daddy is doing his best with handling the business."

Tumango ang Don. "I never even got to attend the reopening nang natapos yung renovation nyo sa hotel sa tagaytay because of this damn hospital."

"It was a success, I heard." Hindi rin kasi kami nakarating ni Dan, he was too busy to travel that time.

"I heard you're planning of putting your own business under DJ Ford's company?" Baling nito kay Dan.

"We're halfway done with it."

"And I hope you're not neglecting our own company dahil lang dito?"

"I won't be here right now if I do."

"I just want to make sure." Nagkibit balikat ito.

"Masyado mo pinoproblema ang kompanya and yet you're still not willing to get an operation." Sabi ni Dan rito.

He scoffed. "I don't need that damn operation! I'm feeling better anyway kung tutuusin pwede na ako lumabas kayo lang itong ayaw pumayag."

"Because you're obviously not okay. Bakit ba kasi ayaw mo pumayag magpa-opera? It's for your own."

"I won't leave the company again once you get better. If that's what you're worrying about kaya ayaw mo magpa-opera then I promise I'll stay."

"WILL he get the operation still?" Tanong ko kay Dan sa telepono. Pareho kaming nasa kanya-kanyang opisina ngayon.

"He's so stubborn! Gusto na talaga umuwi that he signed the waiver kahit hindi pa pinapayagan ng doctor."

"Hmm... I guess alam ko na kanino ka nagmana?"

He scoffed. "Of course not, hindi ako ganun katigas."
