At 10 years old in a little black dress and cardigan I was dragged through the hallways of Buckingham palace towards princess Diana's funeral. I didn't want to be here not today not to meet them for the first time. How was I going to help? A 10 year old orphan werewolf. But still Alistair kept me going to meet Prince Harry. At least I hadn't known my parents but poor Harry he knew his mother. She always sounded like a remarkable woman.
"Come on," Alistair tugged at me again. We walked into a large room filled with people all dressed in black. I'd seen plenty of photos of the members of the royal family to be able to spot them all. Prince Charles greeted us at the door. "So sorry for your loss your highness," Alistair even did a little bow. I curtsied, remembering that's what you must do when you meet royalty.
"Thank you."
"I've brought Amy along to meet Prince Harry. I know he's probably having a hard time right now and another young wolf may lift him a little."
"Of course right this way," he led us through the packed room and out the other side. Down another hallway and into a library. "Harry?" He called quietly into the dark room.
The young prince appeared from behind one of the bookcases. My heart began to race. My senses heightened and then we both said "mate."
Alistair turned to Prince Charles and said "we should leave." Then he knelt next to me and whispered "he needs you now more than ever." Standing he and prince Charles left the shadowy book filled room.
"Hello," I curtsied to him. "My name is Amy."
He strode over and said "I don't think you need to curtsy to me. I think you're my wolf mate."
"So you felt it too?"
"Yes, but we're so young. I thought you had to be older or something." He stared at me, his red hair was so messy. "How old are you?"
"10, I'm 11 next month." He kept staring at me but I didn't mind. Usually I would have hit him but I liked him looking at me. "I know what it feels like to loose a parent. Mine both died when I was a baby."
"Do you have a pack?"
"No."
"Then you can be part of mine, I'm an alpha. Well Alpha in training." I giggled, he was cute with his red hair. "Do you like books?" I nodded and he grinned. He then ran off behind some shelves before reappearing with a book set. "Here." He handed me the set which I could now see were the chronicles of Narnia. "Let's read them together." I nodded tracing the beautiful patterns with my fingers. We sat on some huge soft cushions in the floor and we began our magical journey into the world of Narnia.
