"A warning to the people, the good and the evil."
- This is War, Thirty Seconds to Mars
There was just a couple more days to Jemma's estimated due date. I had some time to think over baby names, but I couldn't decide on any. It was something Bucky and I should be doing together.
The past week has been very scheduled. Every couple hours, Daisy would come in and let me take some of her powers. I asked her to be sure it was okay that I did this. I noticed her in a little pain the first time.
She said it wasn't that bad, and I needed the energy more than her. Apparently she's still waiting to be approved to start some team of inhumans. It sounds interesting, something I would definitely like.
Today was going to be different, I could tell by the way Daisy looked. She wasn't gonna put off her questions any longer.
"What did you mean the other day, when you said you didn't need to learn control?" Daisy asks me.
"I just don't need to focus as hard as others." I lie, praying that she just drops the subject.
"How?"
"It's not something I'd like to share with other people."
"Why not? Whatever it is, we can use it to help the inhumans we bring in. It could save so many lives-" She's pushing me too far and I can't let her go on.
"Well then you better be prepared to ship all your alien friends to Hydra's door step!"
"W-What are you talking about?" I look away from her. I try to focus on my fingers while I fiddle with them.
"I never learned control, they just gave it to me."
"How is that even possible?"
"The...... Brainwashing they did, it didn't just screw with my memories. It completely changed who I was. How I acted, how I thought, how I felt....... It changed everything."
"You know that our powers are more than just tied to our emotions, it's more like they're one in the same. We get angry we lash out, calm down and we're back in control."
"So wait, you're saying you......... don't have emotions?"
"I do, I just don't always feel them." I finally look up at her, her face is full of pity. "You have no idea how painful it is to feel nothing. Sometimes I think it makes things easier, but it just complicates it more."
"I'm so sorry, I had no ide-"
"You shouldn't apologize for something you had nothing to do with." I tell her blatantly.
"I only meant-"
"I know what you meant. But your pity doesn't help, people never truly care for others feelings. When someone asks, how are you, they don't really want an honest answer. They just want you to say fine so they don't have to deal with you anymore."
"I don't feel that way."
I smile and look back up. "Because you're like me, we've been through too much to not care."
"Well, maybe it'll be easier one day..... For you to move on and feel, I mean." Daisy says sincerely.
"I don't know if I'll ever 'move on' from Hydra, it always seems to be nipping at my feet."
"Yeah, I know the feeling." She sighs.
I know this isn't a very long chapter, but I hope my little Christmas present makes up for that ;)
I made a video with imovie to go along with this book. Various clips from marvel along with some clips of Cara Delevingne as Alex.
I'm not sure what exactly to call it, an edit/trailer/whatever, the point is I made it to go along with this book.
If for some reason you can't watch it, let me know and I'll post it on Youtube or something.
This is my first time using imovie with my first iphone (I just switched from Android) so let me know what you think of it.
If I get more than 20 comments this time then I'll update before Jan 10, which is my next scheduled update.
^-^
