I fell to my knees, at first the pain was sharp. I could feel the blade rip through me. My knees started to give out, and I felt Tony's arms holding onto me. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Dimitri smirking, before vanishing into thin air.

The sharpness was starting to fade, being replaced with an icy cold feeling, spreading from the wound throughout my body.

I gasped, feeling the blood in the back of my mouth. Then I heard Tony's voice trying to reach me.

"Hey, come on! You're gonna be fine! We're gonna get you help!" He said, desperately trying to put pressure on the wound.

I knew I wouldn't make it that long though. Not a chance in hell. I could feel the cold hands of death grabbing onto me.

"It's ok-okay-" I gagged on the blood in my mouth.

I could see tears, streaming freely from his eyes. He held onto me tighter.

"No!" He cried. "No, no-"

"Promise me... " I gasped, desperate for the air I needed. "Watch after them-"

He just stared at me with sadness. "Please...." I gasped.

He held onto my hand, giving me reassurance.

"I will." He cried. He brought up his other hand to caress my head.

"Thank- y-you..." I smiled. I felt the blood seeping through my lips.

I held onto our gaze for as long as I could, before it started becoming fuzzy. I could hear Tony's voice, but I could not understand him. That's how I knew I was fading away. This was it.

But I was okay with that. They were safe, there's nothing more I could need.

I was finally at peace.

My eyes fluttered open, and I tried to comprehend what was happening. I felt cold disconnection from something. It didn't feel normal.

I sat up from what looked like the dirt I fell down in, but Tony was gone. There was a dark shadow cast over the earth. Like the light was being shoved away.

The first thing I heard was someone crying. Sobs of anguish and heartbreak. It was almost as if I could hear the person's heart shattering into a million pieces.

I slowly managed to get on my feet, my wounds were gone, no traces of blood anywhere on me. I wasn't even in my gear anymore.

I turned around towards the sounds of sadness. I didn't expect at all what I saw.

"Bucky..." I whispered. I stepped towards him. He sat in the dirt, cradling my lifeless body.

People stood all around him. Tony, Thor, Peter, Sarah, James, even Wanda.

"Alex...." I heard a familiar voice standing right behind me.

I turned around slowly. I nearly broke into tears at the sight of him.

"Steve?" I asked. I glanced back to Bucky. "I died... didn't I?"

"Yes." He says. I turned back around towards Bucky. He held onto me tightly, begging me to come back.

"He's a mess." I said with sorrow. I so desperately wanted to ease his pain. Steve placed a hand on my shoulder.

"He'll be okay." He says reassuringly.

"Now what?" I asked, my head hung low.

"Now," He says taking my hand. "We find peace."

"How?" I asked. Looking up to him.

"You just have to let go." He says

"What if I can't, what if I'm not ready?" I said looking back to them.

"They'll be okay, they're alive because of you.... You deserve to find peace."

I couldn't look away from them, I couldn't let go.

"We'll see them again some day." Steve says.

I squeezed Steve's hand, and looked away from them.

"I'm ready to find peace."

Oof, that was painful to write.
