Brooklyn's POV

I have been planning Austin's birthday since his birthday last year. Last year he seemed a little upset to only be having a small get together with the bands that he was touring with and I really wanted him to remember his birthday party this year. The planning involved many nights planning with his band, which of course led to me being on tour with them. No one in the band minded so it wasn't really an issue. The real issue was having to wait until Austin went to bed to do anything, which led to a lot of late nights or just nights where I didn't get anything done due to how tired we all were. This year it would be perfect, I made sure of it. Currently I was driving with Austin to a restaurant just outside of the town where the bands last show was. The band had booked out the restaurant earlier this month to be sure that we got that one. Austin just thought that he was going to dinner. I smiled at that thought. As I continued driving the car made a slight noise that didn't sound too good. I ignored it and kept driving; we aren't far from the restaurant. I looked over at Austin to see a smile spread across his face, he was always smiling, which made me happy. With a final cluttering noise, the car stopped moving, leaving the two of us in a broken down car on the side of the freeway. "Brooklyn, did the car just break down?" Austin asked me with slight worry in his tone. I sighed and hit my hands against the steering wheel. Everything was meant to be perfect tonight; it couldn't be perfect if we weren't even there yet. "Brooklyn, it's alright, we'll just get there late." Austin shrugged. I sighed and quickly texted Alan to let him know what had happened. Within a few minutes he replied and told me that he'd be there soon. I just hoped that soon happened very quickly. "Brooklyn, what's wrong?" Austin asked me. I didn't want to tell him about his birthday but I didn't really have a choice now. "We've been planning your birthday since last year." I sighed, running my fingertips through my hair. "W-What? Why that long?" Austin asked me. "Because last year you didn't seem too happy with your party and we all wanted to make it up to you." I told him. Austin chuckled. "Brooklyn, all I need is you and my friends and it'd be the best birthday ever." Austin leaned in and brushed his nose against mine. "Don't be sad, it'll be okay." He smiled and kissed me. I smiled and kissed him back.
