Lindsay’s POV
I walked around Warped Tour getting ready for my last day as a pit photographer. I have grown really close with Escape The Fate this summer. I have a crush on Max but I don’t think it will turn into anything else. I saw someone lying on the ground and they looked to be in trouble. I ran over to find Max and he is barely breathing. I search for a pulse and I can hardly find one. I whip out my phone and dial 911. He is whisked away in an ambulance and I go with him. I paced around the waiting room calling Craig. They come running in. Robert sees me and runs over to me wrapping his arms around me. I collapse in his arms crying. “He seemed like he was dead.” I sobbed. “You saved him though and we can’t thank you enough.” He said kissing my forehead. “I need to leave. I am so sorry. Tell Max I am sorry and I hope he gets better soon.” I said. They nodded and we all hugged goodbye. I haven’t seen Max and the guys for years. I couldn’t deal with seeing him and falling for him all over again. I don’t need that kind of drama in my life. I am currently at the Atlanta airport heading home after being on tour with Issues. Tyler and Michael are basically my brothers and I love them so much. I run into the airport from the cold and the rain. I grab my boarding pass and check my bags. I looked outside and saw a guy popping pills and smoking a shit ton of cigarettes. I then realized who it was. It was Max. I ran outside and wrapped my arms around him. He tried pushing me away. “Lindsay.” He said. “Max, what is going on?” I asked. “I am in so much pain. It all hurts. I was just taking those tablets so I could pass out but it isn’t working. All the sounds sound like someone is screaming.” He said breaking down crying. I rubbed his back. “I don’t even know who I can all right now or how I can call them. I don’t know how I am getting back to LA or where I can stay let alone who could pick me up from the airport. All I want to do is call my family and loved ones and go home. I just want the people who have my best interests in mind.” He sobbed. I held him close. “Max, you need to call your mom and tell her what is going on. I know it is going to be hard but it is your best option right now. I promise you once you talk to her you will get help and things will get better.” I said. He nodded. “Can I borrow your phone?” he asked. I nodded and handed it to him. He called his mom. “Hi mom.” He said. “Hey baby.” I can hear his mom say. “Mom, I am in Atlanta trying to come home.” He said. “Why are you in Atlanta? You are supposed to be in Florida for a few more days.” She said worried. “Well ma, I need help.” He said. “Oh baby, do you have any money to get home?” she asked. “No.” he said starting to cry. I motioned for him to give me the phone. “Hi, Mrs. Green, my name is Lindsay. I am an old friend of Max’s. I can get him home with me and then hand him off to someone in LA.” I said. “Thank you sweetheart. I greatly appreciate it and I know Maxwell will too. Tell him to call Ronnie to come get him.” She said. “I will. We will be leaving Atlanta within the hour.” I said hanging up my phone. “Call Ronnie and tell him you are flying to LA and you need him to pick you up.” I said. He nodded and I went to buy him a plane ticket. He walked over to me and handed me my phone. “Thank you.” He said. I nodded and we headed through security. We sat in the terminal patiently waiting for the plane to be called. “How can you help me? We barely knew each other. We spent half a summer together.” He said. “Because Max, in that one summer, we became the best of friends.” I said kissing his cheek. I saw him blush. “Why don’t we go get you cleaned up?” I said. We headed into the handicap bathroom. I washed his face and cleaned him up. I put his hair up and he looked like the old Max I used to know. I realized he is the same guy I fell for all those summers ago. I smiled and we heard our flight get called. We got on the plane. I ended up falling asleep on his shoulder and I was woken up to him holding me close. I smiled and kissed his cheek again. We climbed off the plane and I saw Ronnie. I smiled and ran over to him hugging him. “I’ve missed that face.” I said punching him in the shoulder. “I’ve missed you too.” He said. “You promise to care of Max. He means a great deal to me.” I said seriously. “I promise. We are getting his stuff from his apartment and then he is heading back home to Cincinnati to be with his mom and family.” He said. I nodded. I looked over at Max. “I will see you soon.” I said. He looked like he was about to cry. He hugged me tightly. “That summer I met you was the best summer I’ve ever had. Thank you so much for saving me.” He said. He kissed me lightly and then left with Ronnie. I stood there shocked. I grabbed my bags and headed home. It has been a few months since I have seen Max. I heard my phone ringing. “Babe, I need to get that.” I said trying to get out form under TJ. “But, I don’t want you to leave me.” He said kissing me. “I will be right back.” I said kissing him. I picked it up and saw it was Max’s mom. “Hello.” I said. “Hi, this is Lindsay right?” she asked. “Yes, it is.” I said. “Honey, Max is having a hard time in rehab and we were wondering if you could possibly fly out to visit him. We would pay for the plane ticket and everything.” She said. I looked over at TJ with a sad look. He knows my history with Max and how I love him. I was lucky enough that he accepts that. “I will come tomorrow.” I said. “Thank you so much. You don’t know how much this means to us.” She said. “It is no problem.” I said hanging up. “TJ.” I sighed. “I know and don’t worry about it Lindsay. Some things aren’t meant to be. He needs you now more than ever. When we were on Warped Tour together all those years ago, I knew he really liked you. I should’ve told you but he promised me not to tell. Now go get your man.” He said kissing my forehead. “You are the best friend I could ever have.” I said hugging him. I ran around my apartment packing my stuff. I grabbed the first flight to Cincinnati. I sat on the plane with my legs bouncing with anticipation. I landed and got a rental car driving to his mom’s house since she insisted on me staying with her. I knocked on the door and she wrapped her arms around me hugging me tightly. “I think I am just going to put my things away and go see him.” I said. She nodded and led me to the guest room. I placed my bags down and she gave me the address of the facility. I arrived and they patted me down. I sat there nervously waiting. I saw Max come around the corner all sad and depressed. “Max.” I said. He looked up and he instantly smiled. He ran over hugging me. I looked up at him and then at his lips. He looked at mine. We kissed. “I need you to get better, Max.” I said into his chest as he held me tightly. “I know, I promise you that I am trying. It is just so hard. I don’t feel the need for the drugs anymore it is just the depression is hitting me hard.” He said. “I will always be here for you to talk to me. I love you, Max. I don’t ever want to lose you.” I said. He smiled and kissed me. “I will be here for awhile.” I said. “That makes it better.” He said sitting down and pulling me into his lap. I nodded. We just sat there with him holding me. We eventually got up and he took me to his therapy session. His therapist said he looked so much happier with me there with him. He also said Max should be able to leave soon as long as he remembers why he is getting himself sober and that he has a strong support system. Max soon got out of rehab and we stayed with his mom for a while. We then both moved into my apartment in LA. We have been doing well for a year and a half. Max is back in Escape the Fate and we are heading on the Bury the Hatchet tour. I was planning on staying home but Max really wanted me to go and both Ronnie and Craig said I could be their photographer. I am currently taking pictures and Max blew me a kiss. I blew one back at him. They finished the encores. “We would like to call up our wonderful photographer and Max’s girlfriend.” Ronnie said. “We all love her and are lucky to have her here on tour with us.” Craig said. I came up on stage and smiled. I pointed my camera out at the crowd and took a picture of all the fans. I looked down at the photo and realized a sign said my name. I looked back up and there in huge signs spelled out “Lindsay, would you marry me?” in huge letters. I was shocked and Craig took my camera. I turned around to find Max on one knee. “I love you, Lindsay. You have always been there for me. You make my days bright and sunny when they are gray. You’ve helped me grow as a person. Every day I have spent with you is blessing and I can hardly get enough when I wake up and see you sleeping next to me. I can’t help but think damn, how did I ever get such an amazing, perfect, kind, caring, smart, and beautiful girl to love a guy like me. Lindsay, will you please do me the honor of marrying me?” he asked me. I was in tears. I nodded and he slipped the ring on my finger. He whipped away my tears and kissed me. I heard the snap of my camera. I saw Craig taking pictures. “Hey, these are tour memories.” He said. I looked at Ronnie who was recording the whole thing on his phone. I laughed. “I love you guys. And I love you.” I said kissing Max again. The fans cheered and I blushed. We all walked off stage and Max pinned me to a wall wrapping his arms around my waist. “I can’t wait to marry you.” He said kissing me. I kissed him back wrapping my arms around his neck. “I can’t wait to be yours forever.” I said. I heard the camera click again. “Enough Craig.” I said. He groaned and handed me back my camera. Max laughed and held me as the roadies loaded up the buses. We climbed onto the bus and headed right to bed.
