Blind Date (Mod Sun)

Kenzie's POV

I straightened out my dress and fixe my hair. My best friend Pat set me up on a date tonight before his concert. I hate being set up like this. I heard a knock on my door and I went to go get it. I grabbed my bag and opened the door. "Hi I'm Derek." He said. "Hi I'm Kenzie." I said. He smiled. "Ready to go grab some dinner?" He asked. I nodded. I shut my door and locked it. We walked to his car and he held the door open for me. I shut the door and we headed off to a 50s diner. "I hope this place is alright." He said. "It is. I love it." I said. He smiled and we took our seats in a booth. We placed our order. "So how do you know Pat?" He asked me. "We've been best friends since we were babies. He is the peanut butter to my fluff." I said. "Fluff?" He questioned chuckling. "Yes, we both hate jelly but love fluff." I said laughing. He smiled. "How do you know Pat?" I asked. "I met him a few years ago and we make music together. He is one of my closet friends." He said. "Wait, are you Mod Sun?" I asked. I haven't been connected to social media much lately so I'm a little behind. "Guilty as charged." He said. Our food came and we started eating. "I love your music. My favorite song is Stoner Girl." I said. "It was one of my favorites that I wrote." He said. Our conversations came easy and soon we had to say goodnight. "I'm off Pat's concert right now." I said. "Same, I will give you a ride." He said. I nodded and got into the car. We jammed out to some music and pulled up to the venue. We got out and I ran backstage to see Pat. Derek caught up and sat on the floor. "Wow you run fast." He said. I smiled. I hugged Pat tightly. He busted out his pipe and I smiled. "You smoke too! Why didn't you tell me Pat?" Derek asked. We laughed and took some hits. We were all stoned and Pat headed on stage. Derek wrapped his arms around my waist and I leaned back on him. We watched Pat perform and then Derek went on. He ended his set with Stoner Girl. I smiled and sang along. "Kenzie, come on out here." Derek said. I walked on out nervously. Pat had a smile plastered across his face. "Kenzie, will you please be my stoner girl?" He asked. I nodded and kissed him. He smiled and kissed me back. Thanks Pat for the blind date.
