Ariel's POV

I rolled out of bed and realized today was Christmas. I looked outside and it was snowing. A Christmas miracle since I live in Florida. I smiled and ran down the stairs. I found my dad standing there with the hot chocolate with whip cream, marshmallows and cinnamon. It is tradition that we have it every year as we open presents after my mom died. So we've been doing this for ten years. I lost her when I was fourteen. I miss her so much. We walked over to the tree and started opening gifts. "You are going to love your Christmas surprise. Be right back." My dad said. "Is it a 6'5 man with a handsome face who sings amazing songs and loves a squid?" I asked. "Honey, I did not get you Austin." He said. I pouted but he brought out a small box. I opened the box and found my mom's locket that my dad got her on their first anniversary. "Thank you so much daddy." I said hugging him trying not to cry. "You're welcome baby girl. She wanted you to have it." He said. I smiled and went to get dressed for the day. I curled my long bright red hair and put on a little makeup. I placed my mom's locket around my neck. Then I slipped on my light pink lace dress and my black leather jacket. I pulled on my combat boots and headed downstairs. "Dad, I am going for a walk. I will be back in thirty minutes." I said. "Okay, we are leaving at twelve to go to my parents." He said. "Okay, I love you." I said. "I love you too sweetheart." He said. I then grabbed my mom phone and placed my white beanie on my head. As soon as I walked outside snow swirled around me. I started walking to the park. It is a perfect Ohio Christmas. I sat on my favorite swing on the far side of the park and began to swing. It's great because I am the not one here. My mom would always push me really high. I started singing Second and Sebring while holding the locket. I felt a tap on my shoulder and jumped up. I fell to the ground into the snow. "I am so sorry." A deep voice said helping me up. "It's fine. I just thought I was all alone." I said. "Well my car broke down and my phone is dead so I was wondering if you had one I could borrow?" He asked. I dusted the snow off me and took out my phone. "Sure." I said looking up. There stood Austin Carlile. "Thanks." He said. He dialed the number and I just sat back on the swing trying to wrap my mind around that I'm next to Austin Carlile. "Hey dad, my car broke down. Can you come pick me up from the park?" He asked. "Okay, I'm on the far side see you in twenty." He said. He hung up and handed me my phone. "Thank you so much." He said. "No problem Austin." I said. "You have a beautiful voice....." He said trying to remember if I told him my name. "Ariel and thanks. I love Second and Sebring. I actually live on Sebring." I said. "That's so cool. I can't believe we never ran into each other and I love the name. Are you a princess?" He said. "Well you are three years older than me." I said and I blushed when he asked if I was a princess. I heard a car horn and it was his dad. "I am in town for the week. Why don't we get together?" He asked. I nodded. "My number is in your phone. Call me tomorrow." He said. I nodded. He left and I headed home. I headed to my grandparents and had fun. I got home late and crawled into bed. I heard my phone go off and saw it was Austin. "Coffee at Starbucks Princess?" The text asked. "Sure, pick me up at ten." I texted back. He replied a smile and I fell asleep. I woke up with a smile on my face. I jumped out of bed and took a quick shower. I dried my hair and got dressed in a huge black sweater and a pair ripped light skinnies. I slipped on my toms and headed downstairs. I slipped my white beanie on and waited for Austin. I eventually went outside because I love the look of winter. I saw Austin actually walk out of a house five doors down. Curse our small town of Pensacola. He waved and I walked down to him. We got in his car and drive in a comfortable silence to Starbucks. We placed our order and I sat waiting for Austin. He walked over with a smile on his face. "Hey, why you always holding that necklace?" He asked. "It was my mom's. I lost her when I was fifteen. The same year you lost your mom." I said. He looked at me shocked. "I am so sorry Ariel." He said. "Hey, at least you know how I feel." I said. He smiled and hugged me. He smelled so good. "So tell me about yourself?" He asked. "Well my name is Ariel Daniela Agnelli. My mom called me Little Lamb when I was little because our last name means lamb. I'm Italian. I love rock and alternative music. I love reading and drawing. I can play the guitar. I believe I am a strong person from the obstacles I had to overcome and I hate being lied to." I said. He smiled. "Well then Ariel, I promise to never lie to you." He said. I smiled and sipped my coffee. We laughed and talked the whole time. We did a little research on my family because we wanted to see how big it was and apparently I'm related to Tino. He is my third cousin. We were driving home when Austin pulled over. "Ariel, I don't want this to end here. I really like you and I was wondering if you would be my girlfriend?" He asked. "Austin, you live in LA, I live here. I don't think I could handle a long distance relationship." I said. "But they are so much better than regular relationships honestly. You actually fall in love with every single part of that person. Hanging on their voice every day becomes so much more important than in regular relationships. It's not all about sex, it's not about all the petty bullshit everyone has now. You get to know that person better than anyone and better than you could in person. Yeah it sucks not being able to hold them and kiss them and be with them, but when that time comes you cherish it so much more because you know what it's like not to have it." He said. I had tears in my eyes. I crashed my lips to his and he snaked his arms around me. "I will be your girlfriend." I said. He smiled. The rest of the time he was here we spent it together. I met his dad and he met mine. Soon I had to take him to the airport. He kissed me one last time and posted on Instagram that he was leaving his princess. I was so sad but I know we will make it. "I love you Ariel. I will see you at the end of the month." He said. I nodded. "I love you too Austin." I said. We kissed one last time and he left.

Ten years later

After that day we had monthly visits together for about a year and then I moved out to LA with him because we found out I was pregnant. Austin was over the moon excited. When I moved out to LA with him I got close to Tino. He is basically my older brother. We are currently moving back to Pensacola to be with our dads. We got married seven years ago. "Melody, put your shoes on." Austin said. "Okay daddy." Our little princess said. She is so beautiful for a nine year old. She has my natural black hair but I still dye mine bright red. "Ariel, my queen." Austin said wrapping his arms around me. I smiled. "I'm happy we are going home." I said. He nodded. We shipped everything and took one last look around the house. I kissed Austin and we headed to the airport. We all sang Coming Home loudly. "Daddy, Mommy." Melody said quietly. "What is it sweetheart?" I asked sitting her in the seat between Austin and I. I buckled her seat belt and took my seat as Austin finished storing the luggage in the overhead bin. "I had a dream last night of Noni and Grammy. They said they were proud of you both and that they love you very much. They look forward to seeing me grow up every day. And Grammy said daddy is a lucky man for finding you. And Noni said you picked a good one mommy. She says she loves Daddy like Grammy loves mommy." She said. I was shocked. She dreamed of her grandmothers. I look at Austin and he was shocked too. "Thank you for telling us princess. It means a lot to me." Austin said. I smiled and kissed her head. Soon she was asleep while we were in the air. I saw Austin looking at the tattoo he got in memory of his mom next to the princess crown that had Melody's name on it. "Austin, are you okay?" I asked. "Ya, I just miss her Ariel. You know how it is." He said. I nodded. "They love us both and look down on us. They are so proud of us Austin just like I'm proud of you." I said. He smiled and kissed me. I'm ready to start a new chapter in our life.
