Thundering Love (Bret Von Dehl)

Mae's POV

I laid paralyzed with fear in my bed as I heard the thunder outside my room. My boyfriend wasn't home to comfort me since he is on tour. I sobbed, as I could not find any comfort for myself. I just wish Bret were here right now to hold me and tell me everything will be alright. I heard my front door open downstairs. I grew scared. No one has a key to my house except Bret but he is states away. I got out of bed wrapped myself in a blanket and hid in my closet. I heard the intruder walking down the hallway to my room. I whimpered pushing myself further back into the closet. "Mae, baby." I heard a voice say. It was Bret. I heard a crack of thunder and screamed. I heard his boots run across my bedroom floor to my closet. I saw him and he crawled into the closet with me holding me in his arms. "I heard the door open and hid. What are you doing here?" I asked him. "Cheering up my sexy lady." he said. I buried my face into his chest. He held me and rubbed my back. He picked me up and carried me to my bed. He took off his boots and went to find his PJs that he left here. "Just take your clothes off and get in my bed." I said. He chuckled and stripped climbing in bed wrapping his arms around me. "I actually have a few days off and wanted to see you. I didn't know about the weather until I landed. I rushed right here to come save my princess." he said. "Thank you. I really appreciate it." I said feeling safe in his arm. Another crack of thunder came and I screamed a little. Bret kissed my forehead and rubbed my back. He started singing savage eyes to me and I fell asleep. I woke up to Bret holding me still. I smiled and kissed his forehead. He smiled a little but did not wake up. "My knight in shining armor." I whispered. I rested my head on his chest just feeling his chest rise with each breath he took. Listening to his heartbeat. It made me happy to know that he was all mine and no one else's. I looked over towards the window and saw that it was just raining. I heard a groan and saw Bret waking up. "How about we do some puddle jumping?" he said. I giggled and kissed him. We got dressed and headed outside. We jumped in the big puddles and began to walk towards Starbucks for breakfast. We sat next to the window watching the rain come down as we drank our warm coffee. "So I was thinking that you should come back on tour with me. I know the guys won't mind and Mike already loves you." he said. "We can sleep together in a cramped van." I said. He pouted. "That sounds just lovely." I said kissing him. We headed back to Warped tour and JC greeted us at the airport I smiled and ran over to hug him. We headed back to the venue and I got to watch Metro Station perform along with New Years Day, Juliet Simms and Black Veil Brides. BVB were happy to see me again since I haven't seen them since their Halloween show with the boys. It was finally time to pack up and leave. "Hey, come sleep with me on my bus so you will have somewhere nice to sleep." Juliet said. "Some other time, I want to spend some time with Bret but thank you." I said hugging her tightly. I helped the boys finish packing up the trailer and we climbed into the van. JC was in the front with Mike driving. Bret made Ray, Adam and Tommy take the back. We laid out in the seat and he covered me with a blanket. "This isn't comfortable but at least I'm with you." I said kissing Bret. "Aww." All the guys said. I blushed and buried my face into Bret's chest. I was slowly falling asleep to his heartbeat. "Guys, I think she might be the one." Bret said thinking I was asleep. I smiled. "Ask her Bret. I know her answer will be yes." JC said. "I think I will. I will just have Ash distract her so I can get her a ring." he said. I then fell asleep as he as he said I think. I woke up the next morning to find myself in a bunk. I got up and walked out into the lounge. "Good morning." Ash said. "Why am I here?" I asked confused. "Oh, Bret dropped you off here to hangout while he went and did something with JC." she said. I nodded confused. "Can I take a shower?" I asked. "Sure, here borrow some clothes." she said handing me some. I smiled and thanked her. I washed away yesterday's sweat and dirt and felt better. Ash and I walked around Warped Tour meeting fans and watching bands. "Bret's set is starting." I said grabbing her hand running to the stage. Nikki was there and the guys are already on stage. Bret looked over and smiled at me. I blew him a kiss and he pretended to catch it. "Are you guys ready for an old song?" Bret asked. The fans cheered. "This song is dedicated to my lovely girlfriend Mae." he said. I blushed. They began Savage Eyes. Bret looked directly at me at the end of the song. "I think I love you baby. I think I wanna make you mine. My lovely sinner of the night." he sang. Nikki and Ash pushed me onto the stage. "Mae, be my lovely sinner of the night?" he asked getting down on one knee. I started crying. I nodded. He slipped the ring on my finger and I kissed him. He even got a black diamond. They finished their set and it was raining. Bret and I laughed and started puddle jumping together. We kissed standing in the rain being a cheesy couple. There was a crack of thunder. I screamed and jumped into Bret's arms. He chuckled. "I can't wait for this to happen the rest of my life." he said kissing me distracting me from the thunder. "As long as I have you to distract me, I think I won't be sacred anymore." I said. He smiled. "I love you Mrs. Von Dehl." he said. "I love you too Mr. Von Dehl." I said.
