I Don't Blame You For Being You (Austin Carlile)

Austin's POV

I have been planning this night for a little while, well since I'd come off tour. Ruby went to work today, I don't really understand why she still goes to work when she knows I can support us both but I guess it gives her something to do when I'm not at home. Either way, I still love her, as always. Tonight I'd planned to make Ruby dinner and then we would be able to watch movies for the rest of the night and just spend as much time together as possible. We haven't really spent much time as a couple, with me writing Of Mice & Men's new album and Ruby out of the house for most of the day. We both have our own things to do but it was nice to spend time together. As I finished finishing up dinner for us, I heard the front door open and then close. "Ruby I'm in the kitchen," I called out. Ruby walked in with a slight smile on her face, I didn't quite know how she was feeling though. "What's wrong?" I asked her as I walked up and pulled her in for a hug. Ruby sighed against my chest, "Work was just hard today." I didn't say anything back, I just nodded my head and continued to run my fingertips up and down her spine. "I made dinner for us," I trailed off. "Thanks Austin, really, but I'm just not in the mood for it tonight. Maybe a little later?" Ruby said with a flat tone. I frowned a little but nodded my head. "Whenever you're ready," I smiled. Ruby walked into the bathroom, probably to take a shower, so I sat down by myself at the dinner table and ate dinner. Not to sound arrogant or anything but for once I did a damn good job at cooking dinner. It actually tasted good and I didn't burn it, I'm pretty proud. I walked up to the bedroom that Ruby and I shared and peeked through the door. Ruby was watching her favorite TV show whilst being wrapped in the bed covers.

Being careful not to distract her from her show, I got under the covers with Ruby and wrapped my arms around her. "I love you Austin, I really do," Ruby said quietly as she entwined her fingers with mine. "I love you too Ruby. I am sorry you had a bad day." I said. "Can I have dinner now?" She asked. I nodded and fetched her plate. I handed it to he and she ate it happily. "Austin, it tastes so good." She chimed. "Thank you." I said. She set down the empty plate and cuddle into my chest. I rubbed her back and she soon fell asleep.
