I saw Austin at the end of the corridor. I stopped walking as we both stared at each other. I looked away and turned around. I walked off and as I disappeared from Austin's view he managed to run up to me and shout my name. I recognised his voice and didn't turn around. I carried on walking until I felt someone grab my arm. I turned around and it was Austin. He was covered in bruises and almost all his face was swollen.
'Maria, I'm sorry.' He said.
I ignored his appology and felt his face. I felt sorry for him for some reason eventhough I hated him. I touched his cheeks and frowned at him.
'What happened to you?' I asked.
He shook his head so I'd let go of his face.
'Nothing.' He mumbled.
'Tell me!' I pleaded.
'I just got hit by a ball a couple of times playing baseball.' He laughed.
'Austin, I may be easy to fool but I'm not stupid.'
He stopped laughing as he saw my straight face.
'Seriously, I'm fine.' He smiled.
I rolled my eyes at him.
'Maria, I'm sorry. It wasn't me! It was my friends. They shouted your name and Seb threw a cream pie on your face.' He said.
'And you expect me to believe that? I heard YOUR voice, Austin. I know what I heard.'
I rolled my eyes at him and walked off.
'Maria!!' He yelled.
But I just carried on walking...
