"Daddy, next time pasyal naman po tayo sa Enchanted Kingdom," Jeremy said out of nowhere while we're eating in the restaurant.

"Yes! Daddy and Mommy brought us there before!" Katie added excitedly. "They promised to bring us there again pero di na po natuloy because they already sleep inside the big boxes." She bowed her head down at mukhang iiyak na anytime.

Naaalarma kaming nagkatinginan ni Zanny. "Yeah! Sa weekend pupunta tayo sa Enchanted Kingdom." I held her back. "Kaya smile ka na. Don't worry. Yung hindi natupad na promises ni Daddy and Mommy sa inyo, we will still do all of them together."

"Really, Daddy Lance?" sabi naman ni Jeremy. "Sabi po nina Daddy dati pupunta rin daw po kami sa beach. Are you going to bring us to the beach also?"

"Beach agad? Akala ko ba di kayo marunong lumangoy?" Binuhat ko si Katie. I sat her on my lap. Mukhang nawala na sa mood kumain nang maalala niya ulit yung Daddy at Mommy niya.

"Yes po. But you can teach us how to swim, right? I can see you and Tito Gab and Tita Misty swimming together when we have reunions po eh. And you promised us before, pag magaling na po yung leg mo, sabi mo po tuturuan mo na kami mag-swim ni Katie."

"Sure. I'll teach you how to swim. At pag marunong na kayong lumangoy saka tayo mag-a-outing sa beach."

"Katie, did you hear that? Daddy Lance will teach us how to swim already and he will take us to the beach," he told his sister. "Smile ka na, Katie. Sad din si Kuya pag sad ka eh."

Napatitig ako kay Jeremy. A particular memory from the past suddenly came back to me.

"Binili ka ni Daddy ng new rubber shoes dahil nag-top one ka ulit?" I asked Justine when I was seven years old and he was nine.

"Oo. Ang ganda di ba? Uso daw to sa US kaya binili niya during his business trip there. Eh ikaw, ano'ng binili ni Daddy sa yo?"

Napatitig ako doon sa rubber shoes niya. I really liked that. Gusto ko rin magkaroon nun. Pero hindi yata talaga ako gusto ni Daddy. Pag si Justine palaging maganda yung mga pasalubong. Pag sa akin palaging hindi ko gusto yung mga binibili niya.

"Binigyan niya 'ko ng t-shirt and baseball cap."

"T-shirt and baseball cap? Ayaw mo ba ng mga yun? Gusto mo palit na lang tayo?" Lumapit siya sa akin at ibinigay sa akin yung hawak niyang rubber shoes. "Wag na lang pala tayo magpalit. Ayan, sa 'yo na lang 'yan. Same lang naman tayo ng shoe size eh. Saka marami na 'kong rubber shoes. Mas bagay yan sa 'yo."

"Talaga, Kuya? Bibigay mo na lang sa 'kin ito?"

Inakbayan niya ako. "Oo naman! Para happy ka na. Gusto ko happy tayo pareho lagi. Pag kasi sad ka, sad din si Kuya eh."

"The best ka talaga, Kuya! Ikaw talaga ang best brother in the whole world!

I smiled sadly at that thought and felt a stinging sensation in my eyes. Jeremy was just like his dad. Thoughtful and caring.
