Photographs - Gen X Reader

Y/N's Pov

I had my phone in my hand, looking for a certain someone.

What was I doing?

Well, I was trying to get a photo of the school's supposed emo, Gen Kurai.

My best friend, BFF/N said that it was close to impossible to get a photo of him.

He wasn't at school very often and he never came to photo day so there were no photos.

It was weird but it made me want to get a photo myself.

And so, here I was, looking for him to try and get a photo of him.

BFF/N supported me in trying to get a photo but she/he thought it was impossible.

I looked around and saw the people that Gen usually hung around.

But no sign of him. Not yet.

I kept walking around until I saw him.

I took out my phone and input my password.

I tapped on the camera icon and lifted it up to take a photo to see that he disappeared.

"He's gone." I said.

This might be harder than I thought.

And the bell rang for school to start.

Gosh.

I walked towards my class and sat down.

*time skip to lunch*

I had my phone in my hand again, with the camera already out so I could get a picture of him.

I walked around the school looking for him again.

I then found him near the football field.

I held up my phone to take a picture but someone knocked me down.

My phone went flying and I quickly got up.

My phone dropped on the floor and I picked it up.

I looked at the football field and saw that he was gone.

"Okay BFF/N, I understand what you mean by it was close to impossible to get a photo of Gen." I said.

"Told you." BFF/N said, popping up behind me.

I jumped.

"Where did you come from?" I asked.

"Sorry, I saw you weren't eating so I figured it out. You still are trying to get a photo of Gen?" BFF/N said.

"Yeah. But like you told me. It's almost impossible to get a photo of him." I said.

"Well, I saw him heading to the rooftop, you could try there." BFF/N said.

"Oh, thanks." I said.

"Before you go, why exactly do you want a photo of him?" BFF/N asked.

"I just want to be able to get a photo of him." I said.

"Or is it something else?" BFF/N said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Could it be that you have a crush on him." Gen said.

I felt my face heat up a little.

"No." I said.

"Suuuuuure." BFF/N said.

I rolled my eyes.

"I gotta go." I said walking off.

I walked up towards the rooftop.

I got there and took out my phone.

I had my camera out and sighed.

'Let's get the photo.' I thought.

Gen's Pov

I was on the rooftop as I heard the door to the rooftop open.

I heard footsteps and turned my head slightly.

It was that girl again.

The girl had H/L, H/C hair with E/C eyes. 

Her name's Y/N L/N.

And all day I've seen her.

I knew she wasn't a stalker because she didn't seem like that.

I turned around completely and she looked at me in surprise.

"Hello." She said.

"Hi." I said.

"How's it going?" Y/N asked.

"Have you been following me?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah, sorry." Y/N said.

"Why?" I asked.

"What?" Y/N asked.

"Why have you been following me?" I asked.

"My friend told me that it was close to impossible to get a photo of you and so, I wanted to try and do it myself. Seemed like it failed." Y/N said.

"Hm." I said.

"Well, since I can't actually get a photo, I just gotta give up." Y/N said.

"You can just ask." I said.

"Oh. Well can I get a selfie instead." Y/N said.

"Sure." I said.

Y/N smiled and stood next to me.

She took out her phone and held out her phone.

She smiled and was about to take a selfie but I kissed her cheek as soon as she took the photo.

"Uh." Y/N said.

"I love you." I whispered in her ear and then walked away.

Y/N ran to catch up to me. 

Y/N held my hand before I could walk back inside.

"I love you too." Y/N said.

I smiled a little.

And we walked inside holding hands.

Maybe photographs aren't that bad.
