Prom.

That was every girl in ever movie's dream.

Every girl in high school's dream.

Everyone but me.

I never understood the appeal to it.

I was 17 and we were graduating this year.

So of course, that meant prom.

(Disclaimer: I know nothing about prom or what it really is. It's called a formal from where I am and even then I still have no knowledge about it. So forgive me for getting anything wrong)

My friends were all hyped for it and a lot of people I knew were hyped for it.

It was the main thing going around school for almost a month now and prom was next week.

My friends have all decided to go out to get their dresses.

Beni invited me and my response was.

"No. I don't find any use in going to prom." I said.

They still made me go, so I could help judge on dresses and they chose one for me.

"Y/N, what about this one?" Beni asked.

"No, go for the fuschia pink fade one. Jirou, the purple one was nice. Momo, red suits you. Asui, green is the best one for you, Uraraka, the baby pink one looks good, Ashido, the blue and green one suits your skin, Hagakure, the blue one matches you. Now I'm leaving." I said as I gave my opinions and I left.

It wasn't that I didn't like them. I didn't like prom.

As I was walking home, I ran into Chooki.

"Hey." I said as we walked together.

"Hey, where were you just now?" Chooki asked.

"At the mall. My friends wanted to go dress shopping. I gave them my opinion and left." I said.

"For prom I'm guessing?" Chooki guessed.

"Yeah. I don't understand the concept of prom. Why would I want to spend one night, looking nice for a bunch of people I don't care about. Like I care about some of them but I don't care about most of them." I said.

"Oh, so you're not going?" Chooki asked.

"Nah. I'd prefer not to." I said.

"Well, I was going to ask you if you wanted to acompany me to prom but I guess that's out of the window." Chooki said.

"Oh, sorry Chooki but I'm kind of deadset on not going." I apologised as I got home.

"That's fine. It's understandable." Chooki said.

"Don't worry. There's a lot of girls out there who would be escatic to go with you." I said, giving him a small smile as I went into my house.
