Day 16: Toxsa X Reader - Stop and Listen
Toxsa's Pov
I was sitting in my living room, doing nothing as I watched my sister run around, grabbing things."What's going on?" I asked.
"I have a date with James." Wakemai said as she grabbed some clothes and started looking at them.
"What?" I asked as I got up.
"Yeah, I have a date for the first time in ages so you better not ruin it. Not that you can cause we're going out." Wakemai said.
I may have been younger than her by a bit but that didn't mean that I want cautious of anyone she went out with.
"Oh come on, I won't do anything." I said, as I heard the bell ring.
"Yes you will." Wakemai said as she went to the front door.
"Toxsa, your girlfriend is here." Wakemai teased and I got up, slapping her arm.
"She isn't my girlfriend." I said as I saw that Y/N was here.
"Hey." I greeted as I heard Wakemai going around the house again.
"Hey, ready to play video games. We've almost finished overcooked." Y/N said as she walked inside.
"Yeah, we might have a slight change of plans." I said as we both walked to the couch.
"Hm, what?" Y/N asked as we sat down.
"Hey Y/N, could you help?" Wakemai called out and Y/N got up and helped her out with make up.
"Ah, that's right. You're going on a date with James." Y/N said, as if she just suddenly remembered.
"Yeah, do you think I look good?" Wakemai asked.
"I think you look amazing. He'll love it." Y/N said as the doorbell rang again.
Wakemai waved bye and left with James.
"Y/N! Why did you do that? I don't want my sister going on a date," I said.
"Calm down Toxsa. One, you're younger than her so she has more responsibility than you. And two, she'll be fine. She acts way older than her age so she'll be fine." Y/N said, patting my head.
"I know, but I want to make sure." I said, standing up and grabbing her hand.
"Today's not going to end well." Y/N said as I half dragged her away, following James and Wakemai.
Y/N's Pov
Toxsa and I were hiding behind a bush as he started out towards his sister."I just wanted to hang out with my friend." I mumbled as I stared up at the sky.
Toxsa kept looking towards Wakemai and I sighed.
He grabbed my hand and dragged me away, following after his sister again.
"Toxsa, stop this. James is a good person." I said.
"I don't care how good of a person he is. I don't trust him." Toxsa said and I sighed again.
Letting myself get dragged around town with Toxsa following Wakemai, and the countless times I tried telling him that James was good and to have faith in his sister but he ignored me.
We had gotten to the park, and it was getting late so I decided to stop him here.
"Toxsa!" I exclaimed, yanking my hand back, effectively stopping him.
"What?" Toxsa asked.
"Stop this. You're sister knows what she's doing. She's been alive longer than you and have gone on dates more than you. She knows what she's doing. Have faith in her. And James is a good person." I said.
"How would you know anything about him. He could be a serial killer or someone who takes advantage of people for all we know." Toxsa said.
"Are you implying that my brother would hurt anyone, let alone take advantage of someone. Do you know how insane you sound," I said as I turned around, "Call me when you're being rational." I said, walking away from him.
I went back home and sat on my couch as I waited for James to get home.
After a few minutes, James came through the door, and immediately hugged me.
"Hey, what's up. What happened. I saw you storm away from the park and Toxsa was left behind." James asked.
"Hey called you stuff that you weren't. I don't even think he knew you were my brother." I explained.
"Hey, it's okay." James said, comforting me.
"You left your date for me. I'm sorry." I said.
"It's fine. Family comes first." James said.
Soon I heard a knock on my door.
Toxsa's Pov
I was standing there shocked after what happened. Why didn't I listen to her?
She was obviously trying to tell me something.
I then felt a whack on my head.
"What happened?" I heard Wakemai ask and I turned around to face her.
"That hurt." I said, rubbing my head.
"I don't care. All I know is that my date had to leave because his sister had stormed off, which was a rare occurrence for her. And that my idiot of a brother might have actually said something to hurt her." Wakemai said, staring down at me.
"Look, I'm sorry. I just didn't want you to get hurt." I said.
"Yeah, but I know what I'm doing. You could have just hurt your best friend and unless you fix it in the next couple of minutes, you might have lost her and your chance at having her." Wakemai said and I felt the reality hit me.
"I have to go apologise." I said.
"Come on, you can go apologise to your girlfriend at her house." Wakemai said as we started walking.
"Let's hope she even wants to be my girlfriend now." I said as we walked in silence to Y/N's house.
I knocked on the door once we got there and hoped that Y/N would listen to me.
"Toxsa?" Y/N questioned once she opened the door.
"Well, I'll leave you two alone." Wakemai said as she stepped inside.
"Yeah, James is sitting on the couch." Y/N said, closing the door after Wakemai got inside.
We stood there for a minute before I spoke up.
"I'm sorry. I was so thoughtless as to what was going on. I should have listened to you and trusted my sister. I didn't mean to say that, I didn't want my sister to go to someone who can't be trusted but I didn't want to lose you. But I might have because of my thoughtlessness." I said.
"It's okay. I understand and I forgive you. But, next time, I want to hang out with you, not being dragged all over the town to follow your sister who went out with my brother." Y/N mentioned and I smiled.
"Thank you." I said, giving Y/N a hug.
She smiled and hugged me back.
"Yeah, and next time we can go on a date." Y/N said and I felt my face heat up as I buried my head into her shoulder.
Y/N laughed as she rubbed my back.
"Too soon?" Y/N questioned.
