Day 15: Gen X Reader - Babysitting Help

Y/N's Pov
I had to babysit my nieces and nephews today.

That would have been all fine and dandy except my parents must have forgotten that my friend was coming over so we could study for upcoming exams.

"Guys, guys, I need you stop for a second." I said as I carried Eric and Alice, my youngest neice nad nephew twins, in my arms.

I had three other neices and two other nephews.

Eric and Alice were the youngest twins, both having just turned one.

Then there was Harriet, who was two, and pretty loud.

Jack and Lilliete was older, being at 3, not being from the same family.

Aria was 4, and was one of the more quiet ones.

Zane was the oldest out of them at five and entering kindergarten.

I had two older sisters and one older brother, so I'm glad that collectively I only had seven nieces and nephews, and not anymore.

"Why today?" I questioned myself as I moved around with Eric and Alice.

"Y/N, Y/N, can we have biscuits?" Harriet asked as she tugged on my pants.

"Yeah, just let me deal with Eric and Alice first." I said, looking down at her.

"NO! I WANT IT NOW!" Harriet screamed and I had to stop myself from covering my ears.

"Harriet, stop." I said.

I heard a knock on my door.

"Zane, could you open the door?" I questioned.

Zane nodded and got up.

I went to the front as he opened the door and saw Gen on the other side.

"Oh I'm sorry Gen, I never got to message you." I said, as I tried to smile at him as best as I could.

"That's fine, I see you've got your hands a bit full." Gen said.

"Yeah, I'm babysitting my neices and nephews." I said.

"Well, since I'm here anyways, do you want help?" Gen asked as he stepped inside.

"Oh, uh. If you want to." I said.

"Sure." Gen said as he placed his bag down.

I smiled and Gen came up to me and took Eric from me and Alice from me.

"Don't worry." Gen said, giving me a smile.

I nodded and heard Harriet screaming.

"Okay, it's time for you to meet everyone. You are holding Eric and Alice right now. The one that opened the door is Zane." I said and I lead him to the kitchen where I grabbed biscuits and gave it to Harriet.

"This is Harriet. She's usually more loud." I said as she hid behind me, away from Gen.

I picked up Harriet and went into the living room.

"That's Jack and Lilliete. They're not siblings but act like it." I said as both of them were playing with toy cars.

"And Aria is the one who's drawing." I explained.

"Okay. So do you need to do anything?" Gen asked.

"Harriet is going to need a nap in about an hour or two. I've got to feed Jack, Lilliete, Aria and Zane soon." I said.

"Okay. Well maybe you can go make them sandwiches while I look after them." Gen suggested and I felt skeptical.

"Okay." I said.
