Beni The (Terrible) Matchmaker - Gen X Reader

I was walking down the hallways of the school when I saw Beni spying on someone.

I felt that she was going to do her weird matchmaking things.

I walked up to her and looked around the corner to see who she was spying on.

It was my best friend, BFF/N and a friend of mine, Drew.

"Beni. Stop." I said, grabbing her arm and dragging her away.

As we walked past them, I looked at them.

"Apologies for Beni. She's being weird again." I said.

We went further away from them until we stopped.

"Y/N. Why did you stop me?" Beni asked.

"You're being weird. Stop shipping people." I said.

"But I cant stop. Theyre cute together." Beni said.

"You cannot force someone into a relationship. They get together because they want to. Not because some weird pink haired people wanted it to be." I said.

"But wouldnt you want to be in a relationship with Gen. I can help you. Valentines day is coming up." Beni suggested.

"No. I doubt he would want that. And no matter if we both like each other, we can only be in a relationship if both of us want to. Now please, just stop." I said.

"Fine. But no promises." Beni said.

"Okay. Well I got to go, I have a few things to do before class." I said, leaving Beni in the hallway.

Oh how I would regret that.

Benis Pov

I watched as Y/N walked away and I went to my locker.

I took out a book and flipped through it.

I landed on a page and smirked.

Time to put my plan into action.

*later that day*

I walked out of class and went to the hallway which Y/N would be going through.

I waited for Gen to walk close enough, and Y/N not to be concentrating, when I tripped Y/N.

She went right into Gens arms, causing her to go red.

I smirked and walked away.

I then looked at my book, looking at the next part of my plan.

*time skip to the next day*

I walked to school, looking for Y/N.

When I found Y/N, I walked up to her.

"Hey Y/N. Could you get me a book from Gen that he borrowed from me. I need it for my history class and I have to get to a meeting for music club." I said.

"Yeah sure. Ill give it to you in Geography." Y/N said.

I nodded, walking away from her.

I made sure that she got to Gen.

I saw them talking and I smiled.

Y/N blushed at something as they talked.

There was two days to valentines day and I needed this to work.

*time skip to the next day. After school*

I had invited the entire gang to eat ice cream, to which they all agreed.

"What ice cream do you want?" I asked.

They all ordered.

I told the orders, editing them a little bit.

I then got the orders.

"Here you guys go. Im going to get the rest." I said.

I then got mine, Gens and Y/Ns.

Except Gens and Y/Ns got combined in a ice-cream bowl by accident.

I gave it to them.

"Sorry guys. It seems they heard me wrong." I said.

"I understand. Theres about seven of us so seven different orders must be confusing." Y/N said.

"Thanks for understanding." I said.

"Yeah. Its fine." Gen said, sharing the ice-cream with Y/N.

This was working.

*time skip to Valentines Day*

Gens Pov

I knew what Beni was doing. It was obvious.

And it was quite annoying.

Because it makes me feel that Y/N doesn't want to be in a relationship with me.

"BENI!" I heard someone yell.

I saw Y/N storming through the hallways, presumably looking for Beni.

I saw Beni at the end of the hallways, wide eyed and starting to run.

Y/N grabbed her before she could get far and took her somewhere.

I followed in-case someone got hurt.

Someone meaning Beni.

I followed them to the field.

"Beni. You cannot force people into relationships. Especially me. You know how I feel about him and this. Forcing people to do things is wrong." Y/N said.

"But it was working. You both could have gone somewhere." Beni said.

"Beni! I love him. But that comes with risks and consequences. If I want to confess, I will do it. Not with some weird matchmaker that doesnt know what they're doing." Y/N said.

"You love me?" I questioned, stepping out from behind the tree.

"You heard that?" Y/N asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Uh, um..." Y/N stuttered, trailing off.

"I love you too." I said.

"Really?" Y/N asked, looking up at me.

I nodded.

Y/N smiled.

I decided to do something bold and kiss her.

Y/N kissed back, and I wrapped my arms around her.

"MY PLAN WORKED!" Beni screamed.

Y/N and I broke off the kiss and looked at her.

"You ruined it!" Y/N yelled.

I hugged her, so as to not let the pink haired princess die yet.

Y/N smiled up at me and I smiled back.

Beni was still the worst matchmaker ever.
