Thunderstorm - Gen X Reader

This is requested by TinyCinnamonRoll4567 who didn't request it in the comments or through text but she is my IRL friend so she told me it.

Y/N's Pov

I was waiting in anticipation for Gen to arrive for our sleepover.

I know that Gen isn't too fond of sleepovers but my parents are out of town tonight and I couldn't stay home alone.

So I told Gen about why I asked him to come to sleepover at my house. And he agreed.

I was surprised.

I was on my couch looking at my phone-watch, playing some game that Ceylan showed me.

Then I heard the doorbell ring.

I got up and opened the door.

"Hi." Gen said.

"Hey. Come on in." I said, stepping to the side.

"You do realise that I've never actually been to your house since your parents met me." Gen said.

"Yeah. I still don't know if they like you or not."  I said.

"Okay, so what are we doing?" Gen asked.

"Well first, let's put your stuff in the guest room." I said grabbing a bag from him, considering he only had two small bags.

"Okay." Gen said.

I showed Gen to his room.

"Sorry if it's messed up. We don't have anyone over so we don't use this room." I said as I opened the door.

"No it's fine." Gen said.

There were only two boxes that were hidden in the corner.

I put Gen's bag on the bed.

"Okay, so let's watch a movie. And play monopoly empire." I said.

"Isn't that the game that ruins friendships?" Gen asked.

"There are a lot of board games that ruin friendship. Like Uno." I said.

(Basically true fact as I somehow rage a lot at my friends because of that game)

"True." Gen said.

We both walked down back to the living room and I got monopoly empire out. I put it down and set it up.

"Okay, you can choose a movie while I get some snacks and popcorn." I said.

I went into the kitchen and put a popcorn bag into the microwave. 

I grabbed some chips and lollies and put them in bowls.

I took the popcorn out of the microwave and put it in a bowl.

I had taken a look outside and saw that it was raining.

"Aw, what a way to ruin the weather. Oh well." I said.

My breathing had slightly gone heavier but I took deep breaths.

"Okay, I got snacks." I said as I took the snacks to the living room, somehow balancing it all.

I put them down on the floor.

"Did you pick a movie?" I asked.

"Yeah. Just put on fast and furious 6." Gen said.

"Cool." I said.

He played the movie and we played monopoly and ate snacks as we watched it.

After the movie I became tired.

"You tired?" Gen asked, looking at me.

"Yeah, kinda." I said.

"Well, let's go to sleep." Gen said.

"Yeah." I said.

We packed everything up and put everything away.

We went upstairs.

"Goodnight." I said.

"Night." Gen said.

We both went into our bedrooms.

I got in and changed into my pyjamas.

I jumped into my bed and went to sleep.

Gen's Pov

I was sleeping when I heard a slight shriek.

Which woke me up. I also heard thunder.

'Must have started raining harder.' I thought.

I got up and went to Y/N's bedroom.

I opened her door and saw a bundle of blankets and a lump on the bed.

And that lump was shivering slightly.

I sat on the bed.

"Y/N. Is that you?" I asked.

"Y-Yeah." Y/N stuttered out.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

Boom.

Thunder.

I saw Y/N jump slightly.

"Are you afraid of a thunderstorm?" I asked.

"N-N-No." Y/N stuttered out but as soon as she said that thunder went off again and she jumped again with her blankets falling.

I looked at her face and she had fear written all over her face.

I did the only thing I thought to do.

And that was to hug her.

She immediately hugged back and cried into my shoulder.

"It's okay. It's only noise." I said.

More thunder.

She hid her face in my shoulder more.

I grabbed her and pulled her and looked at her.

"Look, just focus on me, okay." I said.

Y/N nodded.

And I did the most boldest move I could at the moment.

I kissed her.

She seemed shocked at first and then kissed back.

I would admit I have feelings for her.

We both pulled away and I looked at her.

"Feeling better?" I asked.

"Why would you..." Y/N trailed off.

"Well, I kinda am in love with you." I said.

Y/N had a very visible blush on her face.

"I....love you too." Y/N said.

"Want me to stay with you. Could scare away the evil thunderstorm." I said.

"If that's okay with you." Y/N said.

"I'm fine with it." I said.

"Okay then." Y/N said.

I sat at the edge of the bed and Y/N snuggled up to me. 

"Thank you." Y/N said.

"Your welcome." I said and I wrapped an arm around her.

I kissed her forehead and she smiled.

She fell asleep and I smiled.

Thunderstorms might not always just be a fear.
