Abused - Gen X Reader

A/N: One, warning this might have a slight use of bad language and as the title suggests, abuse. Please skip if you aren't comfortable with that. Also might be short.

Y/N's Pov
I had come home from school as my parents 'urgently' needed me.

I stepped into the house and quietly closed the door.

I was about to make my way upstairs to my room in the darkness when someone turned the lights on.

"What are you doing back so late?" My dad asked.

"School only ended twenty minutes ago." I said.

"Yes, twenty minutes ago. That means you should have been here fifteen minutes ago. It's only a five minute walk from school to here." my dad said.

"I'm sorry. I'll get here earlier next time." I said.

"Damn right you will." My dad said and grabbed a baseball bat he always had next to him.

"And I'll make sure." He said.

He walked up to me and I just stood there.

He swung the baseball bat and it collided with my chest, causing me to fall to the ground.

"Your a failure to this family." He said and started hitting me with the baseball bat.

Gen's Pov
I was walking to Y/N's house to return a book she let me borrow a few weeks back.

As I got the front door, I heard something like crashing.

I got suspicious so I opened the door.

And there stood Y/N's father over Y/N with a baseball bat and he was hitting her with it.

I felt anger bubble up inside me and I was quick to react.

I ran at Y/N's dad, knocking him over and I grabbed the bat.

I swung at his head, rendering him unconscious.

"You trash of a father." I said.

I looked at Y/N and saw her knocked out.

"I hope your okay." I said.

I called up the police and ambulance.

It took about ten minutes for them to arrive.

"What happened here?" A police officer asked me.

"Her dad had abused his daughter, hitting her with a baseball bat. I managed to knock him out." I explained as much as I knew.

"Okay, we'll take it from here." The police officer said.

I saw an ambulance carrier carrying Y/N away.

"Can I go with her?" I asked.

"Only family are allowed." A paramedic said.

"I'm her boyfriend." I lied.

"Only family." the paramedic said.

I glared at him.

"Does it look like she's got much family right now?" I asked him.

He just stared at me.

"Didn't think so." I said.

He let me on the ambulance.

I sat next to Y/N as I looked at her.

She looked peaceful.

After a kind of short trip, we arrived at the hospital.

They had taken Y/N to the ER room and so I had to wait for her.

After about an hour or two, she was taken into a room.

A doctor came up to me.

"Since you are her boyfriend, I will inform you about what has happened. She's broken a few ribs from the baseball and one of her leg bones had come out of place and we had to put it back. She also has a slight concussion. Other than that she is okay. She should be awake now so you can go in and see her. " the doctor said.

I nodded and walked in.

I saw Y/N awake with a few noticeable bandages here and there wrapped around her.

"How did you get in. Didn't realise you were family." Y/N joked.

"Lied saying I was your boyfriend." I said.

"Didn't know you were the lying type." Y/N said.

"How long have this abuse been going on?" I asked.

Y/N put her head down.

"Since my mum left." she said.

I grabbed her hand.

"Sorry that I didn't realise sooner." I said.

"It's not your fault. I got used to it." Y/N said.

"Well, your dad is in jail now. If that makes you feel any better." I said.

"Yeah, but where will I stay now?" Y/N asked.

"With me. I live in an apartment by myself so another person wouldn't do too much damage." I said.

"I can't do that. I would be intruding." Y/N said.

"If you don't want to, you can live with Beni. She's just next door so I would be near." I said.

"If Beni is okay with it." Y/N said.

"I'm sure she is." I said.

"Thanks." Y/N said, smiling at me.

"It's alright." I said.

Y/N then yawned.

"Go to sleep, you need rest." I said.

Y/N hummed and her eyes started closing.

She fell asleep and I slightly smiled at her.

"I love you." I said.

I got up and walked out, looking back to see Y/N with a small smile on her sleeping face.

I left and went home, happy to have helped Y/N from her dad.
