Birthday Surprise - Gen X Reader

Y/N's Pov

It was my boyfriend's birthday today.

I knew he didn't like celebrating his birthday so instead, I decided to do something else.

But it was school today so that was a bummer.

I walked into class with a smile on my face as I saw Gen sitting at his desk.

"Hello." I said cheerily.

"I don't understand why you asked me to come to school today. I could have stayed home." Gen said.

"Aw come on. It's your birthday. You should enjoy it." I said as I sat down in the seat next to him.

"That's exactly it. It's my birthday. I should be enjoying it. At home." Gen said.

"Party pooper." I said, slightly pouting.

"Whatever." Gen said.

Class started and I turned my attention towards the board.

*time skip to the end of the day*

I was waiting for Gen at the front of the school gates. 

Soon, I saw Gen walk towards me.

"What's up?" Gen asked cautiously.

"Nothing. But come with me." I said. 

I grabbed his hand and basically started dragging him towards the cinemas.

"What are we doing here?" Gen asked.

"Well, you wanted to watch a movie that you told me about so here we are." I said.

"Thanks." Gen said.

I went up and paid for the tickets.

I bought some popcorn and drinks too and took Gen into the cinema.

He looked at me and smiled slightly.

We sat in our seats and waited for the movie to start.

As the movie was playing, I felt someone grab my hand and I looked at Gen.

He smiled at me and squeezed my hand.

"Thanks for doing this." Gen said.

"No problem." I said.

After the movie, we left and went to Gen's apartment.

We got into Gen's apartment and he sat down on the couch while I went into the kitchen.

I grabbed a box from the fridge and walked to Gen.

"Okay, what is this?" Gen asked.

"A cake. Duh." I said.

Gen opened the cake and saw a chocolate cake with the words 'happy birthday Gen' written on it.

"Thank you." Gen said, giving me a side hug.

"Just wait." I said.

I heard a woof and tiny feet.

A puppy ran into the room and stood in front of us.

"You got me a puppy?" Gen asked.

"I know you are home alone half the time I'm not here so I bought you a puppy for you." I said.

"You didn't have to." Gen said.

"As your girlfriend, I had to try to make it the best birthday ever for you." I said.

"Well, I can say it was the best one ever." Gen said.

I smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I'm glad." I said.

Gen's face went a slight pink.

We heard a bark and I turned to the puppy.

"Aw he wants attention." I said, picking him up.

"So, what are we naming him, guessing it is a he." Gen said.

"How about P/N (a puppy name. I'm not creative with names)." I suggested.

"Perfect." Gen said pecking my lips.

P/N got in between us and Gen and I laughed a little.

I was glad that Gen had liked my birthday surprise, and the ones to come.

A/N: Randomest idea but hopefully you all like it. Also, I'm sure the tenkai knights themselves don't have official birthdays so I decided to just make a one-shot to do with Gen's birthday. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed
