(Rory's POV)
Well there calls that are not going to be made all by themselves. I thought as I wrote down all of the names of all the people I now have to talk and talk to, which I'm dreading but I should do it.
I will call Lane first, that should be easy.
"Ring, Ring".
"Hello", Lane answered, on the first ring.
"Hi, it's me". I say, a little nervous talking, much less calling her.
"Rory, I'm so excited that you called. I'm assuming that you saw the front page?!"
"Yes, I did" I said, stiffly.
"You didn't know, did you? Your mother didn't call you and tell you, did she?" She said. She knew about what had had happened with Lorelai and was trying to be supportive of her friend (not that she wasn't being supportive).
She knows me so well, "No, I didn't know" I say, sadly.
"She got engaged, Lane, she got engaged and she didn't bother to tell me", I know that we aren't speaking to each other, but I thought that she would at least left me a message on my call phone, but nothing".
"Yeah, I know, I'm so sorry" Lane said, worried.
"Thanks, Lane" I said. I'm glad that I have you as my friend because I don't know what I would do it you weren't here.
"Oh, and guess what, the entire town, I mean everyone that lives in Stars Hallow call me to congratulate me on my mom and Luke's engagement, and they acted that they all thought that I know about it. Now I have to call everyone back".
"How did everybody get your cellphone number anyway".
"Lorelai gave my number to everyone in town, I don't know why", I say.
"Well, I better get going. I have to lot of people that I have to talk and listen while everyone talks about my mom and Luke getting married, while I pretend I knew all the time".
"Okay bye, and good luck, call me later". Lane said, before she hung up.
